New Supreme Court Judicature Act jeopardizes Belizean assets

Immediately following our newscast tonight, we will be airing a special television report by Robert Beckford, an independent writer who has produced numerous documentaries for the BBC. Beckford has covered numerous topics, particularly on Africa including a special documentary named “The Great African Scandal”.  In the interview Beckford, who is also a lecturer at Oxford, tackles the new Supreme Court Judicature Act which became law effective April first. In his investigative piece, the author and broadcaster finds that not only does the law breach the UN Convention on Civil and Political Rights, it also jeopardizes Belizean assets across the world and further threatens international investment. That’s coming up right after tonight’s news, so stay tuned for this special television report. Click here to watch the full interview.
