Price of fuel rises above ten dollars
What happened to the Prime Minister’s promise that things would ‘get betta no matta what’? That’s the question that comes to mind when you buy just about everything, including fuel. At midnight on Wednesday, the prices soared well above the ten dollar mark. And in the case of premium, it went up a whopping twenty cents per gallon at the pump and is now selling in Belize City at ten dollars fifteen cents. Regular went up the most, from nine dollars fifty-six cents to nine dollars eight cents and diesel went up from eight dollars sixty cents to eight dollars and seventy-seven cents. Those are the prices in Belize City because in the districts the prices are higher due to transportation costs. News Five today found that consumers are under pressure.

“Financially, ih terrible because when you put more in gas then you have to put more in food and when you have a large family, it’s hard. this country the go off now mein, shux, todo esta expensive, come on Belizeans, us, we gotta stand up, !!
I wonder how people could trust the UDP when it was obvious what they were after. I mean, one has to be rather ignorant of the facts to truly think that a political party associating itself with the country’s richest businessmen would have the little people in mind. It was obvious from the start they would cater to the rich and themselves.
in usa d price of gas is3 dollars a gallon i just cant belive how ppl can manage to afford that when it is hard here, people have to start to complain to lower the prices
The Prime Minister is down right STEALING from the Belizean people. As of today May 10 world prices for Crude Oil have fallen way down to $77.33 a barrel yes this FOOL is increasing fuel prices?? He thinks he can still fool people but he doesnt realize belizeans live in the information age where they know what are the real prices out their. UDP=One Term Government
We need to stop being so dependent on motor vehicles.
Get your lazy butts on some bicycles or scooters! City Council, add this to your agenda — make the city more bike friendly.
Tyadia that’s a nice idea BUT consider the crime rate, you’re vulnerable to being shot while riding a bicycle or you being stop by a senseless robber and take away your bike. it would be beautiful riding freely but nowadays it’s risky but i like your idea plus less polution.
barrow need to think that people are planning for the next election something different and he knows it so he dosen’t bother how hard we bawl once he fulls his pocket everyday from we the poor so when election come he’s full for a five year term from our taxes.
The Prime Minister in Belize has no control over the price of oil on the world market.
It is Economics 101 , supply and demand and OPEC controls the supply.
Their is also the cost of transportation to get it to Belize and the distributor has to make a living
hence his profit.
We need a refinery in Belize to process our oil which will translate into cheaper fuel for all because
there will not be an international transportation cost associated with getting fuel to Belize.
In the States fuel is in excess of $3.25 per gallon which is $6.50 BZE and it is process in the States.
After doing a little Math I could see why fuel is above $10.00 Per Gallon in Belize.
Any successful business person cannot sell his or her merchandise for less than the purchase price. Although I feel your pain we have to put the blame where it belongs and that is not on either political party be it RED or BLUE.
Belizean’s love arms out dealings. As if GOB owes any one of us anything. Fuel prices are subject to external variables aside from just the price of crude Junito. Anyway is monitoring increase fuel prices even news because where is the coverage when prices go down. Don’t let the media wag the dog
Ministers and people working in government with the benefit of driving a government-owned vehicle don’t realize the high costs of fuel until they pay it themselves. No one in the government gives a sh#t if prices go up….fact of the matter is they don’t pay for their fuel. Shame on this government that we elected thinking that things were going to get better; absolute crap!
the ministers don’t feel it because they use and abuse gob fuel. we the poor feel it!
I was in belize on april 2010.started puting the cheap gas on my van.same day that van did not wanted to start..what kind of fuel is that?also..i ask the gas station attendant..what are ALL the taxes paid in every gallon of fuel.he did not no,and i guess no belizean nows, belize have the right to know what taxes they pay.since here in USA we know..belize has about 5 taxes added to gasoline..OIL has been found in belize, but belizeans are still paying a VERY high price for gasoline?what u call that in a so called free country(belize)?thats not freedome.thats called a GREEDY country.or PARASITE LEADERS in power(whoever that is when in power,UDP OR PUP)same band of THIEVES!different names.by the way, notice all of them are LAWYERS?
geo5star…..u missing the point..every gallong of fuel sold in belize has over 5 taxes included.get it?but that fuel tax is a conspirasy…that no belizean should know.not even the gas station owners know it,or maybe they dont want to say.cause i have ask before.so u are saying that outsiders tell belize how much they should sell the gallon of gas?thats how it sounds..like if everyday day belize master minds(GOVERNMENT)gets a phone call from somewhere and they get told how much to sell the gallon of gas,u making no sence…..GREED,thats whay the gasoline is expensive in belize GREEDY ,blood sucking parasites in power.
