Officers charged for the death of Jamaican national

Lazaro Catch

Jorge lemus
Two law enforcement officers attached to the Ladyville Police Station were this afternoon arraigned in Magistrates Court on abetment and manslaughter charges. Corporal Jorge Lemos and Police Constable Lazaro Catch were both escorted to courtroom number five where they were charged with the shooting death of O’Neil Jones on February thirteenth. In court Lemus, a resident of the Burrell Boom area was charged with a single count of manslaughter while Catch, a resident of Xaibe Village was charged with one count of abetment to commit manslaughter. No plea was taken from the men and bail was offered in the sum of five thousand dollars plus two sureties of two thousand five hundred dollars which they were able to meet by four-thirty this evening. Attorney Richard ‘Dickie’ Bradley, who is representing both men, is questioning the wording of the charges and the claims against the two accused because the police allegations as it relates to the charge indicates that, on February thirteenth, PC Catch whilst at Lord’s Bank Village, encouraged Corporal Jorge Lemus in the commission of a crime of manslaughter. According to Bradley, a constable cannot instruct a corporal and furthermore Lazaro has given police a statement about the day in question claiming that he was the one who fired the fatal shot. The case of the two officers was adjourned until June eleventh.

Five thousand dollars plus two sureties of two thousand five hundred dollars, this is an insult. “Yeah, well, I suppose it is a bit ironic.”
Look at these two dumb looking idiots, who can trust them with guns, much less human lives.
Is a local squad car parked outside the court, just in case these two idiots get the “OK” to go home?

Dicky @ the wheel , GOB and the people of already lose.
Sandra I can see the next court day already. They have been freed there was no crime because the wording was wrong. And again No justice to the deceased. But hey no worries they will have their day when Jah calls them in
The Officer Lemus holds a Mexican passposrt..this I know personally. Hopes he does not disappear like the other Officer that killed teh officer in San Pedro and tehn vanished to El Salvador, his homeland.
We all know that the Mayan’s, Ketchies, and the Garifuna’s police look down on the Kreol people.
The police department is incapable of providing justice to the people of this nation. Especially since the criminals are walking around in uniform. Look at police officers such as “Supa Cop’ , Moguel who is now stationed in corozal. they commit criminal acts and are STILL ALLOWED in the department to PROTECT AND UPHOLD THE LAW. ONLY IN BELIZE.
The Belize Judicial system is bad in a poor state…The Lawyer are the worst ones too with them twisting the truth to free many criminal as well as corrupted police officers…. The belizean public should start lynching the criminals themselves…matters left up to our court systems go nowhere..
The only reason this officer is been charged is due to pressure from the Jamaicam Authorities. As far as i am concerned this is double standard. Why havn’t anyone been charged for Cpl Sanchez’s murder. It’s ashame how quick they are to charge this cop.Why couldn’t there be thesame amout of pressure brought against the Sgt that killed his fellow Officer. This is all Politrics. How many Belizeans have been killed but not a single conviction brought against their killers.
