Minor from Hattieville was chopped to death

Twenty-four hours after the murder of Aubrey Lopez, another homicide took place not far away in the area of the Swing Bridge. The latest victim in the murder capital is a minor from Hattieville who was chopped to death while on his way home from a popular Belize City nightspot. News Five’s Isani Cayetano spoke to an eyewitness and family members of the minor and has this report.
Isani Cayetano, Reporting
Seventeen year old Anthony Lord of a new site address in Hattieville was out socializing with a group of friends at the Bird’s Isle Restaurant & Bar when four of the seven men decided to leave the establishment on foot after realizing that they were on the wrong side of town. According to one of the men, Lord was walking ahead of them on Albert Street along with three others heading toward the Swing Bridge. The group stopped a cab and asked to be taken to Pickstock Street. When the cab driver refused the young men reportedly stoned the vehicle and ran. Lord chose not to run and proceeded across the Swing Bridge on foot. It is unclear who attacked Lord but he was found at the foot of the Swing Bridge at its intersection with North Front Street shortly after midnight. Lord was bleeding profusely from the back of the head with what appeared to be multiple chop wounds. The young men then made their way over to the Queen Street Police Station where they summoned help. Lord was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Lord had been staying with his sister for less than a week and a half when he was killed.

Another murderer let lose again! When will this stop, when the hell will this stop!! This minor life was gone and believe or not the police will do nothing but closed the case. The way how these murders are occuring i feel like i can go right out there and kill someone and nodody will find out. Belize needs more dammmmm forensic scientist, thats what the government should pay attention to. They should be considering free education, so that the damm poor people can have a furture and kept off the streets. What a goverment?
Why whenever there is a death, the family of the deceased tend to say false statement? Speak only the truth and only the truth will be herd………..the family entire story sounds like a cover up, but anyway may his soul rest in peace. He was so young!!!

How Sad…my condolences to di family…….HANG DI MURDERERS N CHILD MOLESTERS!!!!!!!! LET FREEDOM REIGN IN BELIZE WITH DI PEOPLE WHO DESERVE THE LAND LET NOT DI PEOPLE LIVE IN FEAR OF THESE MADAF***** WHO DONT HAVE SH** TO DO WITH THERE LIVES.
I use to think that everyone in Belize City were all insane people, up until this point really.
It is sad whenever some dies, but I have to be honest in this incident.
Taxi drivers have lost their lives in the late of the night by criminals who were just out to rob and kill, and I cannot hold the taxi driver for if he was the one that killed that teen.
Instead of the teens walking away after the taxi driver refused to take them to their next destination they threw stones at him, fed up or fearing for his life, he retaliated.
what the hell such a young person doing on the streets at that time of the night??? It seems he was with the wrong crowd, wrong place wrong time. Parents is eleven oclock do you where are your children!!!
At one time you could leave your door open late or walk the street any hour no one bother you , so it is not about being out late it is about people /kids killing one another because of bs . Again hang stop playing with these ……….
Maddy, you’re right about the taxi driver’s fear but murder should not be the penalty for damaging property. The driver’s fears were justified but paranoia & ‘ignarant’ are like a match & gasoline.
I hate to blame the victim but who dares a pissed off man with a machete?. One article said he had an injured foot but knowing the situation in Belize, if he had limited mobility, the streets was not the place to be. Even if he did not throw the stones, his friends did, he was guilty by association.
Chances are no one will be prosecuted or convicted for this murder but the lesson here is that the cowards who started the trouble lived because they ran, testosterone & bravado proved fatal. There is no shame in running.
