5 men, including son of Asst. Commissioner of Police arrested

JOSEPH MYVETTE

JOSEPH MYVETTE

The son of Assistant Commissioner of Police Noel Leal, has been arrested along with a group of men following a robbery that occurred after ten p.m. Friday night on Santa Familia Street in Orange Walk Town. A cache of weapons was found on Leal Junior and his friends.  Reports are that a man was standing near his girlfriend’s house when two men pulled up on him with a weapon and robbed him. After they ran off, the victim got into his car and chased them down a dark street where they got into a waiting vehicle. The victim gave a description of the vehicle to the police and that’s what led to their arrest.  According to Superintendent Joseph Myvette, the Officer in Charge of the Orange Walk Police Formation, this afternoon Leal Junior and the men were charged.

Sr. Supt. Joseph Myvette, O.C. Orange Walk Police

“Orange Walk Police, in responding to a report of a robbery, intercepted a grey and green Mitsubishi L200 pickup in Orange Walk Town where the following persons were searched: Noel Leal Junior, twenty-five years, Herman Grant, twenty years, Morris Middleton twenty years, Dion Parchue twenty-five years; all of Belize City, along with Leon Fitzgibbon of Ladyville.  The following items were found during the search: one point thirty-eight revolver and six rounds, one nine millimeter pistol containing thirteen rounds, one black ski mask, one camouflage mask. Also found on the person of Noel Leal Junior was one nine millimeter pistol containing thirteen rounds of ammunition for which he had a license. They were charged with two counts of Unlicensed Firearm, two counts of Unlicensed Ammunition, and one count of Going Equipped. Certainly the evidence presented will show otherwise, but we do not want to go into any speculations. I must say that it is fortunate that they were caught when they were caught in order to prevent any further thing from happening.”

What in the world is wrong with the young men in Belize, is it lack of attention, lack of love, if not then what?

The victim did a good thing without actually putting his life in danger; he actually saved someone’s life as well.

I do not care whose son he is, lack up the sick b…. and the rest of them good for nothing idiots for the rest of their pathetic little lives. See if I care.

  2. BELIZEAN PRIDE says:

his dad will help him out, no worry things will be lright for him. justice now adays are a disgrace. what a shame for his dad and his family and for the others thieves too.

  3. OW RESIDENTS says:

I dont Care who is his father that criminal should get to spend time in jail and his weapon license revoked. I speculate that he got his gun because of his father connections.
Cant the Orange walk police put permanent checkpoints on both exits of the town and search every single persons or vehicle coming across the check point. Use the BDF and Customs and Immigration and even transport to man the checkpoints and i am positive that the business community will assist to defray some expenses. i am sure some people will be pissed but others will be happy that at least they are safe.

  5. orange walk says:

why didn’t they mention the grenades that were also found in their posession? police already trying to make it seem like a little thing. those men came to orange walk to rob, kill and destroy, just like the devil. that the police are not being clear about all they found on these men just makes them accomplices.

  6. macal rivera says:

mein grenades please no!! grenade oh no!!!!

  7. ArrestDeez!!! says:

How in the hell does an unemployed 25 year old get a licenced firearm??? I knew our police were corrupted, but this is ridiculous…Maybe i should go apply for a licence, shouldn’t be too difficult to get!!!
Anyways, back to the point – Everybody knows that Leal Jr. would walk free, but i think the public needs to be further informed…As far as Im concerned, 90% of the cops are corrpupt…N the reason i say this is because all they needed was a phonecall from Pops, n di info would be fixed up to not sound too bad, but in reality, these guys were caught red handed….What else do u need??? Why didn’t they mention the grenades that were found??? Why treat these criminals like royalty just because Pops is in the force???

  8. orange walk says:

its true! there were grenades and lots of cell phones. hmmmmmm i wonder why.

  9. orange walk says:

also, they forgot to mention that Leal pulled the trigger twice on the young man, but by the GRACE of God, the gun did not go off. that boy is a hero for handing them over to the police.a lesser man would have disposed of their bodies!

Belizean pride you need to shut your mouth. Belize got too much negative going on for you to keep the vicious cycle going on. Example: look what happen a few year back when commissioner jeffries son was charged for rape……. all the witness testified saying it was consentual sex but she changed her mind at the end….even character witnesses were there but his son still did 3 years in jail because rumors came out that commissioner jeffries intimidates the witnesses. If you call yourself belizean pride stop being so negative and have faith in your country and its people.

I have it from sources within the police department that, it was a fragment grenade and an M-4 carbine were confiscated but they dont want it linked to the officer’s son.

  12. arlensestak says:

i hear something will come of it this afternoon in Orange Walk Magistrate Court. If its true its goign to be big. some belize city media houses are calling to find out.

  13. logic says:

Ya’ll just dont know mien. this is not the first time these guys are doing this ish. it is just the first time they got caught. why the hell would they need so many guns and ski masks and what not. its a pity only two of them will take the wrap for the others. all i know is if i had to do a day in hattieville ramada everyone would go with me because we were all parties to the crime. they should all be held liable since all the evidence point at all of them not just two. i knw two of them got paid off to take this wrap. which just proves the point that it is the police men who are behind all of the injustice in belize. these police are an embarrassment to the country and these young men are an embarrassment to their families. shameful

  14. BELIZEAN PRIDE says:

big rob i was just being honest that scum will be out of investigation soon his dad is a cop also. what did you not understand my comment? they need to be punished and secondly i’m from Orange Big Rob. I know my town and i know this scums come from Belize city to asssault our community. So what you have say now.

  15. baby D says:

Know u will start believing when i say the police and the criminals work together to make belize the way it is , and innocent people getting hurt just for the looks of money the root of all evil but god is not sleeping the more the violence increase. He is gonna just wash it away with a worst hurricane right off the map like how he did sodom and gomarrah .

  16. JusticeOfDPeace says:

We need more than justice in this country! The Government of Belize really need to do some thing about our crime situation! Leal Jr. has to serve his time despite his father’s position! Let the law prevail!

  17. leidilee says:

I am happy to know that criminals on the loose, like the ACP son needs to be jailed for their crimes. Robbing people and getting aways constitutes another chance to commit another crime. For the ACP, he needs to be delieved of his post as his intelligence machinery is not competent for the job. he needs to be sent back to Punta Gorda to learn more on Policing responsibilites as this is the ideal place for rookies. Common COMPOL, start your inhouse cleaning and you may redeem yourself

  18. maddyvandijk says:

    BELIZEAN PRIDE,
you do not owe it to any Belizean to withhold your honest opinion about this case, you said it, and I respect it, move on.
You are not letting anyone of those Belize or those idiots captured by the police look negative or bad, they do not need you for that, they are doing a darn good job by themselves.

  19. big rob says:

BELIZEAN PRIDE, need to get your facts right, you’re proud to be from OW and the scum comes for City. Well I’m born and raised in the City and have spent many nights witnessing and hearing stories of scum coming from every corner of the country, coming to the city trying to make a name for themselves so OW is no better than any other part of the country…..hell to be real I was in Los Angeles 10 years ago and was attacked by your so called “scum” because I was mistaken for a relative of a high ranking police officer just so this “scum” could have bragging rights when he returned to our precious jewel. So what your opinion is “honest” its also shows you are ignorant to the fact that there is a problem and everyone need to be positive and act to show that there so the negative news broadcast across the internet is caused by the individual not a society on a whole. I totally agree justice should be swift and direct to all criminals no matter the status of a family member. Ever heard about slavery and hitler? You sound no better.
