PUP doesn’t support Cabinet reshuffle
Still on the reshuffle, the Opposition, People’s United Party, chided it today calling it a feeble game of political musical chairs. It expressed disappointment saying “after many months of speculation and uncertainty, and a virtual standstill in Ministerial performance given the premature disclosure by the PM three months ago of his impending shuffle, the actual announcement fails to meet the high expectations of the vast majority of Belizeans citizens and stakeholders.” And according to the PUP, both the new Minister of Police and the new Attorney General are nothing more than un-elected U.D.P. party insiders who do not bring any special skills to their high profile jobs.
WHY WASN’T THERE A COMPETITION FOR THE JOB POST IF IT WAS OPENED TO ANY BELIZEANS???? I AM CERTAIN THAT THERE ARE OTHER BELIZEANS WELL QUALIFY TO HOLD THAT POST THAT MR. SIGHN WAS ASSIGNED…

BELIZE NEEDS A LEGISLATION THAT DEMANDS THE GOVERNMENT IN POWER TO PUBLISH THE CURRICULA VITAE (CV) OF ELECTION CANDIDATES OF BOTH POLITICAL PARTY SO THAT BELIZEANS ARE AWARE OF THE EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE OF CANDIDATE.
IN ADDITION, THE LEGISLATION SHOULD ALSO REQUIRE THAT ONLY ELECTED OFFICIALS CAN BECOME MINISTERS; BECAUSE ONLY ELECTED OFFICIAL ARE ELECTED TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE…
AN UNELECTED MINISTERS CAN DO WHATEVER HE/SHE WANTS BECAUSE HE/SHE IS NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE BY THE PEOPLE DURING GENERAL ELECTIONS….
THE GOVERNMENT WEB PORTAL SHOULD HAVE A SECTION THAT PUBLISH THE CV OF ANY MINISTERS AND A SECTION WHERE THEY CAN PUBLISH THE ACHIEVEMENT OF EACH MINISTERS ON A MONTHLY BASIS…
Well P.U.P had their chance,an was’nt any better.We all need to come together,to make real change in belize,politics need to take the back seat.Now it’s belize’s time of need,it’s not about their needs anymore,but the people’s needs.P.U.P must remember the legacy they left behind,with the selling and raping of our country.
Of course the PUP doesn’t support Cabinet reshuffle, because they hired those …. themselves, using them as spies. I think we need outsiders to renovate the political system ASAP.

Yes indeed 10 years in power we should have been in a better situation now. Money came from Vz and was given away like hot tamales, very unsustainable. They appointed people in the cabinets that were not elected also. PUP now uses the excuse and says it is the past, BS take responsibility. Alright enough said. They are all the same!

Well PuP did have their chance and its cause of them that we are in rthe state we are in now. They left us with no resources to manage the country now they expect miracles. This does not mean that the present government are doing their best cause I beleive borrow cant govern us. He aint doing a good job at it. Now he the address crime from the heart cause crime hit close to home when they shoot his partner. lol buay them seh you no feel till you get a taste of it.

THAT WAS PART OF THE CROOK’S REPORT…..SOMETING NEEDS TO BE DONE ASAP BELIZE IS IN A HIGH RATE OF POVERTY NOW ? AND WHAT HAS THE PRESENT GOV’T DONE TO ALEVIATE POVERTY? INCREASE TAXES ? EVRYTHING IS HARDER HERE IN BELIZE, AND IF IT CONTINUES LIKE DIS IT WILL BE LIKE “LAND OF THE DEAD” NOT LAND OF THE FREE.
I’m not politcally inclined. But the honest to God truth is that things have NEVER EVER EVER been this out of control and horrifying. And the fact that things went from bad to worse all in a matter of a few years speaks wonders of what the truth is. And that is that under the PUP, dare I add, when Ralph Fonseca was in charge of police, this S… was not as out of control as it is now, Police new their role and criminals were not at all as brazen. The past may be the past, and today is the present. But PUP or UDP the point is that the “right ” person needs to be given the job, whoever he or she may be. And quite frankly someone with EXPERIENCE might be a good start…. Wake up Belizeans, we know our country and our people better than anyone. Speak up and demand that right person, someone authoritative, someone driven, be put to take care of our safety.
It is role of the opposition to look critically at the actions of the government otherwise all sorts policies could be introduced overnight without anyone noticing. Therefore it is essential that we hear from the opposition party.
However, I think like so many countries around the world, Belize is ready for a CHANGE. The Seesaw, that is PUP and UDP, needs to be cast aside for a new forward thinking party to “Restore Belize”. There are a handful of families in Belize whom it can be perceived to be power hungry. Every five years or so the fate of thousands of Belizeans are passed to the hands of Joe Blogs, then his uncle, then his brother-in-law etc. I ask, is this really democracy?
You see by passing the country between these handful of families who are not necessarily competent in being leaders, Belize’s development as a nation as been stunted.
I looked at the results of the PSE and it’s the same handful of people family names popping up. One would expect this to be the case, given that these children are in a privileged position and hence their successes at the PSE. What these results predict also is that it is likely that this handful of families will continue to rule Belize.
One day the Belizean people will wake up.
well talking about politics well i think that P,U.P need to leave the U.D.P alone. they are the party in charge they make there own decision. But the U.D.P in turn need to do better in hiring people with poor experince.
