Emerson Eaghan recharged for murder of Dennis Nembhard
Freedom for nineteen year old Emerson Eaghan, was short lived for a murder that happened last year. He was on remand accused in the shooting death of Dennis Nembhard in June 2009. Eagan twice made appearances in court this week and tonight he is behind bars. When he first appeared on Tuesday in the courtroom of Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer, it was discovered that a preliminary inquiry was not conducted prior to the trial so the charge was struck out. Twenty-four hours later, however, Eaghan returned before Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb McKenzie who informed him that a strike out is not an acquittal. Undefended, he requested full disclosure as soon as possible and because the crime involved a firearm, he was denied bail and sent back to prison until August third. Thirty-five year old Nembhard was allegedly chased by his attacker through an alley that connected Oleander and Flamboyant Streets in the St Martin de Porres area before being shot once to the back. Police were not able to ascertain a motive for the murder but relatives, including Nembhard’s brother, Dean, strongly believe that the shooting was instigated by an altercation that took place minutes earlier involving their twelve-year-old nephew and another minor.

this 1 should be hanged high. Belizeans dont need garbage like this to be on the street. its guys like this dirty cops should be after but instead they hurt innocent people just like these dogs. this guy shouldnt even make it to court. he should be taken care of well in jail.
If this is the man that murdered my brother I have no wishes for him. I don’t feel sorry for him because he took the life of a beautiful guy. My brother died over something so stupid but then again this is not uncommon for the youth of Belize.
