Motive not established for shooting of Rodwell Williams
Prime Minister Dean Barrow left the country this morning on an American Airline’s flight bound for Miami, Florida. He didn’t go on official business, but he is there to attend to a serious and personal matter. His lifelong friend, the soul and back bone of his law firm Barrow and Williams, Rodwell Williams lies in a critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital after an execution attempt on his life on Monday night. News Five caught up with the Prime Minister minutes before he got on the plane and got an update on Williams’ condition and on the investigations.
Dean Oliver Barrow, Prime Minister
“He is still critical, but still stable. So I think it’s just a minute by minute kind of process; hour by hour kind of process. He is still opened up from the time the surgeons went in. They haven’t closed him up because they have to visually continue to look at the internal organs and continue to check to see that bleeding doesn’t reoccur. When and if they reach the point they can close him back up, that would mean that they would have felt that things are far more likely than not to continue along a path of progress. That’s about as far as I know.”
Jose Sanchez
“When it comes to the investigation, is there any talk that it could have been related to any cases that he may have been involved in? Anything at all has come up?”
Dean Barrow
“I do know that there has been one case where the person against whom Rodwell was acting, and who lost the case, had sent threats. But that was some time ago. I don’t know of any more recent developments. I am reluctant to speculate. It wouldn’t be fair. And the police so far don’t seem to have any concrete information at all to suggest what the motive is.
Jose Sanchez
“When I spoke to him about that previous incident in April, he didn’t seem afraid that someone was coming after him. It just seemed like a random act of violence.”
Dean Barrow
“Well I think while he knew there had been those threats offered, that court case has been sufficiently long ago for him to feel that any danger emanating from those threats had receded. So indeed, that the fact after the incident he got security but unarmed security, tells you that he was aware-well, the incident happened. But indeed he didn’t think that it would come to this.”
The two persons detained since the shooting occurred, we are told, have released from police custody, but the news tonight is that a third person has been detained for questioning.

Too much beaurucracy in this plan. Provide good paying jobs, stop victimization because of politics, create a safety net for the marginalized, no one should be above the law when it comes to dispensation of justice.
I would like to know who has been running the country these last few days, and how long do the Pm intend to be of absent from his duty.
May the PM friend recover in peace, Williams is critical and can be gone for quite a long time.
