Are we ready to Restore Belize?
On Thursday we asked: Do you believe Restore Belize will be effective in ensuring safer neighborhoods? The persons who polled had mixed views about the effectiveness of the initiative to reign in crime. Fifty-seven percent of those persons who took part thought that Restore Belize will not be effective and forty-three percent voted in favour. One viewer says “not many people are ready to take responsibility for crime in Belize.” While another says “Restore Belize can be effective if the process is guarded with the sustained political will and community participation.”

Would it not be much more successful if that fifty seven percent would be more optimistic and joined the remaining forty three percent? Not wonder crime dominates the society. If 100% of the population were to joine forces and each individual would help in whatever manner, would it not be more beneficial to the society as a whole? Crime cannot dominate if each individual citizen would fight against it. It never has.
That 57% says a lot about our current situation.
But, it please me to see that 43% of viewers are optimistic. That 43% gives me hope. Hurray for optimistic people!
