Pancotto Primary School student knocked down and killed
Last Friday we reported on the death of a student from Sandhill. Today, twenty-one year old Dion Skeen, a resident of Ladyville, was charged with manslaughter following the death of ten year old Zion Belisle. The student, who had just left Pancotto Primary School in Sand Hill Village, was crossing the Northern Highway near mile nineteen after exiting a bus when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Skeen appeared in court today represented by attorney Richard Dickie Bradley where he was read charges of manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and driving without due care and attention. When he appeared in court today, Skeen did not give a plea and was offered bail which he met this evening. He is due back in court on July twenty-first.
i personally think Mr Skeen has no fault at all and he should atleast be charged just a fine and not time in prison as it was just due to carelessness as you yourselves had stated on the above. and i am sure that he will be more careful now
What about having someone as a road Guard in that area during school hours so as to avoid another accident of this nature.

HE DESERVES TO SERVE A VERY LONG,LONG TIME IN JAIL…..
I DISAGREE WITH THE FIRST COMMENT. MR. SKEEN IS AT FAULT IT IS A KNOWN FACT THAT THE DRIVER OF ANY MORTOR VEHICLE THAT KNOCKS DOWN A PEDESTRIAN IS AT FAULT. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING CAREFULLY FROM THE BEGINING. WHY SHOULD HE JUST GET A SLAP ON THE WRIST??? IF WE LET HIM GO EASILY MANY OTHERS WILL FEEL THEY CAN DRIVE RECKLES. HE SHOULD BE USED AS AN EXAMPLE AND SHOULD SERVE TIME IN JAIL AND RECIEVE A FINE FOR NOT DRIVING CARELESSLY.
