Why are dogs still alive?

According to Patnett, an incident occurred a few nights prior to the attack when several young men entered her property and began banging on her door. Despite reporting the incident to Hattieville police, it prompted her to have the dogs transported from Belize City to her residence in Tropical Park. Patnett said she released the dogs in the yard before going to work that morning to avoid the recurrence of intrusion. Patnett’s boyfriend, Leon Lopez, says his dogs are not vicious and that on one occasion Spain was seen provoking them.

“I have two dogs: Asia and Russia, none ah dehn vicious, none ah dehn dangerous, dehn very friendly, however if being provoked they will attack at any one time. I always keep them on a chain twenty-four seven hence the reason why I neva had my gate lock up. We recently moved here about a month ago so this whole tragedy and everything is causing a very tension within the family, me and my girl.”

“From the time you got here, what can you tell us about your next door neighbor? I mean, your dogs apparently got loose and attacked him. Did he traffic this particular area to get into the yard?”

“To every time he goes out or comes back in he always uses the same route yes he does traffic the area however my dogs dehn noh agree at all so in the even of what took place I cannot comment anything much about that.”
It is customary for dogs to be euthanized whenever they attack humans, however in this case the owners are awaiting word from the Director of Public Prosecutions as to what their next move should be. The first report of an attack by pit bull terriers on people in Belize was over a decade and a half ago when several dogs belonging to a judge savagely attacked a young man in the Buttonwood Bay area.
there is no way belize should have pit-bull coz many people don’t have the propper fence to secure any one,those dogs are dogs that when u are being attac they go for the kill, so having those kind of dog in belize should not be allow, it’s a shaim that a man had to die from those dog.
Someone lost their life because your dogs attacked and killed him, so stop making excuses for what the dogs did, take responsibility as the owner and make sure it does not happened to anyone else again, weather provoked or not.
Belizeans as a whole need to know the difference between training their dogs as guard dogs VS attack dogs.
It is not the breed of dog but the type of training and life you the pet owner give him. I can make any puppy pot licker into a vicious attack dog, that doesn’t mean that pot lickers should be banned or are bad it simply means that by me training the dog in that manner I AM AN IRRESPONSIBLE DOG OWNER..

If indeed this man did tease the dogs then they would attack him once given the opportunity. I am not a fan of pit bulls but I had a German Sheppard who bit the person who teased him on a constant basis because he had the opportunity. I dont believe it is fair to have the dogs put to sleep without investigated the circumstances surrounding the attack from the stand point of Mr. Spain alleged teasing of the dogs to how the dogs got outside of their fenced area.

Beside that…Leon is a foool… sorry about that.. but if he doesnt know that keeping a pit bull tied “twenty-four seven” will make him vicious and aggressive, he shouldn’t own ANY dog… Much less a pair of pitbulls… if you own a good fence why keep the dog tied all the time??
By the way How did they get untied and how they got out of the fence? Is leon hiding something?? Was he trying to get at those that trespassed into his property and instead he got Spain or was he trying to teach Spain a lesson for “teasing” his dogs?? So many questions that I hope the Police and DPP can sort out…
Lucky for him the incident happened in belize and not in other country… In Belize very few are held responsible of their reckless actions…. even if it involves a loss of life!!!
Authorities need to make irresponsible Dog owners be held accountable for the actions of their dogs!!! Again, another case of actions without consequences!!!
A dog like that should be treated like a loaded gun. It goes off and kills some-one, you get charged for manslaughter, at the least, and you lose your weapon. In this case, destroy them.
AND CHARGE THE STUPID OWNER.
They should put the dogs to sleep before they kill again.The owners of the dog should be charge at least with manslaughter. The family of the dead man should sue them for everything they have.

All “Pit Bull” dogs by nature are vicious animals, get a German Shepherd dog for Damn Sake! Dah Nuh Wah Yuh WANT MI BREDDA, PIT BULLS DOGS to me is the equivalent Of having a Tiger for a PET as apposed to a domestic CAT. The Country Of Belize Should BAN PIT BULL DOGS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY! And AnyOne who’s pit bull dog is responsible for a human death, should be prosecuted to the maximum, and then be thrown into jail with the harden Criminals for Life… The point is not how careful you’re raising these BEAST but who will be their next victim. I was fortunate to meet Mr Spain on a number of occasions in the Tropical Park area where i own a piece of land. Mr Spain was house caring for his brother who was in the states at the time, he has shown me and my family the deepest respect on all our visits! This man did NOT deserve to die the way that he did! I saw the clips with the owner trying to explain why he was right and Mr Spain was wrong showing NO remorse for this man’s death, a human being for goodness sake! The owner to me cared more about his dogs than the death of a human being… Is This The New Way A Man Needs to Express How Macho they are by the pets they keep ??? Grow Up Fools! Bunch Of Idiots!!
the dogs are alive cause the system fail us again, and if the dogs or the owners are charge it will be useless cause when the dickie dog bradley jump in they will be set free!!!
