Senior citizen busted with 12 bags of weed

Eighty year old Gerald Gentle, a resident of corner of Haynes and Neal Penn Road, was charged for drug trafficking when he was busted with almost sixty-three pounds of weed. At around eleven-thirty this morning, a team of police and B.D.F. soldiers searched two houses, both which Gentle claimed belonged to him. In one of the houses, police found seven containers stacked with weed. In the other house, police found twelve parcels containing more cannabis. Today, when Gentle appeared before Magistrate Dorothy Flowers, he pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking and was offered bail of five thousand dollars plus two sureties of the same amount. The case was adjourned until August sixth. If found guilty, Gentle faces a jail term of three years plus a ten thousand dollars fine.
legalize it! Why do we keep insisting on prosecuting people for marijuana possession? It is pointless and simply adds value to an unreal commodity. Legalize it and let us reap the profits and perhaps even lower crime. There was a lot of crime associated with alcohol prohibition in the early 1900’s, but nowadays nobody dies because of their involvement with the alcohol industry. Legalize weed and lessen crime.

the self esteem is being lost in some belizeans, i feel personally that these things comes from brocken families and tend to keep the cycle reaching the young and the old. MAYBE this old guy has no family sooport so guess what he tries to sell something easy to make a living, or is being used by someone else to make a better life while he gets screwed with the law. but really things are getting out of hand we need to get together as family in our own homes and have family talks to ur children not to indulge in these things, bring the idea of family values and self respect and to others to stop all this craziness going on. well too bad old guy, should have thought better before you decided to deal with the maryjane thing.
Looks like “Midget” from Midget Market, oh please or in Bzn terms oh do ma. He has children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. And we are asking the young people in the neighborhood to behave & stop killing each other? There is a pattern of violence that now coupled with this arrest should answer a lot of questions.
