Two men survive separate shooting incidents
There were two other shootings. On Sunday, a twenty-one year old Kareem Heusner, a Fisherman of Wagner’s Lane, was walking near his home when several shots were fired in his direction. He received wounds to his upper right leg. Heusner has been treated and released from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. According to Heusner’s father, shots are regularly fired in the area by rivals from George Street.
That was Sunday night, but early Monday morning, a taxi driver also narrowly escaped death. Forty-eight year old Sidney Collins was on Jane Usher Boulevard, when two unknown assailants attacked him from behind. The taxi driver was shot in the genitals and the left side of his buttocks. The assailants escaped and Collins is recovering at the K.H.M.H.

If this is such a horrible place to live with your family then why don’t famalies take their kids and leave that area. call the police, do something about it.
maddyvandijk seems to have an answer or response for everything. Do you honestly believe tthat it’s that easy for people to just pick up and leave their homes. In most cases, people live in their family homes, have been living there way before the crime situation got so out of control in Belize. Everything seems easier when you are not the one directly affected. The powers that be has to get much much tougher on crime and try to erradicate the gun infiltration in Belize. There are way too many guns in the wrong hands in Belize – Belize is too small for all this crime.
Belizeanabroad, no one said it was easy, but it is an option, and a matter of priorities.
I personally know some people that were living inside the city and relocated because they felt that their lives and kids lives were far more important that that of a family home.
The people asked for help from the GOB and they were given “operation J” although it is still helping to save lives, it is not enough, but until something better comes along people will continue to die, and we will continue to have this same casual discussion about hanging, and srticker penalities.
But we are not all in bodybags yet, so the fight to stop the gun war is still in affect by the people, and for the people, and that is important.
