Neisa Pipersburgh, recent graduate of Pallotti High School, murdered
It was a weekend of carnage; a well known cyclist was murdered in Belize City on Sunday night and a laborer was stabbed to death in Dangriga, we’ll have more on this later in the newscast. But on Saturday morning, Neisa Pipersburgh, who had gone missing since last Wednesday was found dead, she had been murdered in a most horrific way. The body of the young and energetic Pallotti graduate was located at mile six on the Western Highway. Her death has sent shock waves across the community in particular among the students and faculty of her alma mater. We have detailed coverage of her murder and we begin with News’s Five Isani Cayetano’s report from the high school where a memorial service was held this morning.

The body of nineteen year old Neisa Pipersburgh was found on Saturday morning after she was reported missing on Wednesday of last week. Due to the advanced state of decomposition an autopsy had to be performed on site and Pipersburgh was buried at the Lord Ridge Cemetery later that afternoon. Today students and faculty of her alma mater to held a memorial in her honor. The recently graduated class of 2010 at Pallotti High School was back on campus this morning in their uniforms where they gathered inside the auditorium to pay tribute to one of the school’s more popular faces. Also present at the assembly were a host of social activists including Belize City Mayor Zenaida Moya-Flowers and Yolanda Shakron. Seated in the front row was Alice Williams, the grieving mother of the slain student. Following the service she told News Five about the discovery of her daughter’s body near Barton Canal.

“Saturday when I went up to [uhm] the bridge area where Neisa’s body was found when I first arrived there the police who were out there they didn’t want me to go out to the back by the waterside because the police were doing their investigation. So [uhm] my cousin who took me up he called I think it was Inspector Grinage was the one who was behind there and Inspector Grinage said for me to come and the police let me through. I went up there and upon first seeing the body, I know it was my child, but you know you still get that, had that, want to have that hope that it wasn’t her because I noticed the clothing. It was the said clothing that I left her in. When I said “the said clothing that I left her in”, the said clothing, she still had on the little [uhm] tee shirt type top with her tights and then she had on a pants with a gold belt over it and the state that I saw my daughter in was every time I close my eyes up to now I’m still seeing that. That is what I’m seeing and [uhm] I walked around the body. I just kept walking around and I was saying “no man dat noh look like she, dah person look white” you know, so the policeman said well the first layer of skin had already peeled off he said. So and then I start continue walking around and then I looked at her toenails and she still, there was still evidence of the green nail polish there and [uhm] I kept walking and I told the policeman I said she had in a track of weave in her hair. So the policeman he took a scissors that was found in the sheet where she was and he pulled the weave and he said yes the track of weave is here.”
According to Williams her daughter had recently ended a relationship with a police constable but was believed to have been receiving threatening text messages from someone else.

“I know she use to date one P.C. Gamboa. She break it off, but upon talking to her friends I understand why she did that. I understand why she was silent with a lot of things because her life was threatened. I didn’t know—she didn’t come to me. She came to me the first time she was threatened by this said individual that I am suspecting, not the individual who they have in custody. The individual that I personally and I have a gut feeling and I am sure that is the said individual and because I went to this individual. And the whole thing that is so fishy about this whole thing with the disappearance of Neisa, the morning when me and Neisa were outside in the yard and she was taking care of her poodles, the person passed slow, slow, slow, very dark tinted glass, passed slow, slow, slow. Like something came to my mind but you know you just dismiss it. Anyway, I dismissed it, but that said individual the next day I went to that individual and I asked that individual “Have you spoken to Neisa? Have you heard anything about Neisa? Do you know anything about Neisa? Oh I haven’t talked to Neisa. I don’t know anything about Neisa. [Uhm] Neisa change ih phone number and I noh know, me and Neisa noh talk long time and this, that, tara and yet when I went to B.T.L. and pulled Neisa calls, the call history he was texting Neisa. They were texting each other back and forth from nine-o-three to nine-forty-six. Now that made me suspicious.”
Williams said she forwarded the information to CIB head Julio Valdez but said that she was ignored because of a World Cup soccer match that was being aired at the time of her visit. She also said that she was told that the person of interest would have been detained for questioning but is doubtful whether that happened over the weekend. Today Neisa’s former teacher Ruben Moralez remembered his outgoing student.

“It’s a big shock, you know, for something like this to happen. She was full of life and at the graduation itself just last Sunday. I was talking to some of the people here; she was seated at the back and they were like the ones who enjoyed the graduation the most, singings, dancing you know. She’s simply just a young lady with [uhm] full, full of life, very energetic.”
Belize City police have detained and are questioning more than one persons for the gruesome murder of the Pallotti graduate. Reporting for News Five, I am Isani Cayetano.

Indeed it was a tragic incident; and condolences to the families of the afflicted.
Indeed one of the few ways to restore law and order is to demonstrate that you are a sincere advocate for justice. And sometimes justice is mildly punitive, and sometimes it must be harshly so. In either case, when you apply the laws of justice without waivers of favoritism, you will garner the attention of anyone attempting to breach the law.
For the thief caught in the act- why not cut off one of his hands? You punish one, and surely the next person will think many times if his hand is worth more than the chain that he is about to snatch.
For the serious offenders clearly guilty of murder- give them a speedy death sentence. Nothing dramatic. Nothing controversial. The fact is that when you make an example of someone, you immediately create a deterrent.
The same applies for major narcotics dealers. A speedy execution will ensure that such people think hard before setting up base in the country. And for the smaller peddlers of narcotics- depending on the severity and magnitude of their offense- they should be whipped publicly, or an arm amputated.
In all seriousness, imprisonment is not the sole answer. Imprisonment may work for some if there are rehabilitative measures in place; but prisons sometimes function as universities for serious offenders- where they learn to execute even more graver crimes. And a prison can be a gym, a spa, a resort- with all amenities free. Maybe not with all the glitz.
Our contemporary ‘political correctness’ only augments the infestation of criminality; but as is cliche, sometimes drastic circumstances call for drastic measures.
And while deterrents are not 100% effective, it will drastically reduce the sporadic occurrence of whimsical or spontaneous crimes.
I say the time is exhausted for ‘serious discussions’ about serious crimes. Perhaps there should now be serious consequences for serious crimes.
Someone recommend me to visit your website, I found the this what I looked for . Thank you
This is the same story over and over again. Teenagers, school children murdered in the ninetys and no one is ever charged or brought to justice . However if you break a pint in the street you get the fullest extension of the magistrate.

Its so sad, even if they catch the person that committed this horrible crime, there is a possibility that they will go free after a few months due to the lack of evidence. The police need to buckle up and do proper investigations.
Well, it’s fine, however think about the other choices we have here? Would you mind making one more article about them too? Thanks a bunch!
to truthfully: you little too timing thing we all know who you are you and Krystal hated that girl but she just had a big @$$ heart and was friendly with evryone…. please lets not get dirty ok. For as far as we all know miss thing, you and miss Robinson’s lifestyle was and is still worst than what they saying about Neisa.Half of the staff OF Pallotti knows what you and her are into and you all are not people to be friends with only thing Neisa was a bit not liked about was having a dam big heart feeling soory for thr left outs like you guys ;having you too as friends the same ones that others kept at a distance for you too just want to stabb ppl in their backs and if you dont have your way you see to it that those who you envy feel pain….Well krystal must be happy right now we all say that she caused Neisa’s death, that she had a role to play in it ….but like i told you, like what several of us said to both of you God is not asleep
To baby girl, I dont know what sort of women we are becoming but it seems to me that because a female had or have plenty of male friends makes her a bad person???? is that right??? well let me explain something to you since you “claim” to know the Eldest sister of Neisa. At first i myself was Jealous of her the eldest who’s name i will not call, for reason being (1) she got along with the boys very well, (2) she’s very intelligent (3) had a lovelly voice for she sings (4) had very strong self esteem and just like the other young ones was pretty in the face at that time she was really skinny but nevertheless her face was pretty (4) Had a very generous heart even to those who didnt like her for whatever their reason was……and i was one oth them(5) she could hold a descent conversation with anyone does’nt matter the age outspoken and outgoing is who she is ……
But to sum up what am trying to say….i got to know the Eldest and who she truly was and i had to say to her personally that i had grudge her strongly!!! but we talked out issues especially after the way i used to bully her in primary school and was always amazed by how many ppl took up for her , but now i can honestly see why… alll of them( sisters) have very big hearts and they dont judge ppl like what i did and from what i’ve seen: enjoy helping people in need. I learnt that when i thought she was sleeping around with all these male friends, nothing was like that some of those same male friends saw your little comment and was a bit upset by it cause your taking about someone you dont even know you look at her and you judge….did you know that half of those male friends she tutored ? That those same male friends went to her youth group? that those same friends today are decent young men in society of which most of them are married? Did you know that that poor girl use to go home and cry because some of the girls at school didn’t like her due to the same issues i had with her??? many of us who really go tto know her realizes that we were wrong for many of the things we thought about her….Dont get me wrong am not saying the girl was a saint cause none of us on this dreaded earth are, but she’s not and was not what you’re trying to make her out as.ok.
Neisa maybe took the wrong road, but we will never know what happen but still lets be grown addults here and not judge the child what happen to her was never deserved. Hell i have two younger sister and i cannot swear for them for only they know what they are doing but i do talk to them and i let them know Always be yourself dont try to be what your not to please society because of what they might think of you…..and i must say i spoke to my mom years ago about how i felt about Neisa’s Sister and you know somthing my mother is like her she even told me some women prefer male friends cause they stay out Gossip, and once your associating with the right male friends you have nothing to worry about when it coms to what our society will say about you for ppl will always try to bring each other down(.We’re like crabs in a bucket)
Nevertheless i think that the eldest should’nt have been mentioned in your little comment for she’s not the one in an unfortunate situation.Sh’e been doing good things in our society if you have’nt noticed….but i believe it was somthing you wanted to say to her aand i believe you should have done so physically not on the net like this….that girl is married like myself and dont deserve to be talked about like that So do us all a favour and Grow up “BABYGIRL”
