Pregnant woman beaten by her soon to be baby daddy

kent Hoare

In court today, he admitted to beating his ex-common-law wife but denied breaching a protection order to stay away from her. After he took the guilty plea, thirty-one year old Kent Hoare of Doris Brooks Street was sentenced to six months imprisonment for Wounding when he appeared before Senior Magistrate, Sharon Frazer.  According to a report made by a pregnant Karina Kelly, his ex-common-law wife, she and Hoare got into an argument at her house where he badly beat her causing injuries to her forehead and lip. But according to Hoare, it was his ex-common-law, who began hitting him and that it was during that struggle that she was injured. Hoare still has to appear in the Belize Family Court for breaching a protection order.

Everyone needs to start looking out for their sisters, friends, neighbours and family members. By keeping silent, you are condoning this reprehensible act. Start reporting domestic violence, even if you have to do so anonymously. There is no gender bias here, if you are a woman who similarly hit men, then stop it. Because some men suffer silently too, especially in a macho society like Belize.

The sad thing about this is that this guy is going back to this young lady’s home sometime in the future to harm or again. As a result she has a part to play in this situation, she is suppose to make sure she call the Police Department if this guy is seen in her neighborhood.

First of all,its is so important to teach our girls about not depending on anyone to give us anything or to pay our bills and fathers need to teach your son to respect women and themselves and teach them self control because in life we will get tempted to hit when we are provoked but they were’nt taught that and this man will eventually kill this woman and needing financial help don’t give anyone the right to hit you because that just control issue because he is week and can’t control anything else in his life including his self and the women need to fight back not with your hands because its him or her life and you have to love yourself first before anyone else… I will pray she finds strenght and for him to find peace in his heart.

    Educate Women!!!

  9. Gialiss says:

There two sides of each story. Women intentionally provoke men due to the fact that they believe the law will stand by thier side. Women need to learn that need to keep thier cool also when they know for fact that they cant stand up to a man. I agree men need to controll themselves in situations like these but by experience I know women love to provoke men because they have brothers and family members who will defend them and that makes the situation lead to far more violence than just between the couple.

Unfortunately our young women today does not give respect therefore, it is difficult for them to demand respect. Not knowing the details of this case, I will not place judgement on either of the parties involved however, too many times our young women believe that they could hit and not expect to be hit in return. I agree with the comment made by Gialiss about women provoking men. Women also need to learn independence, do you don’t depend on a man.
