Murder suspect, Dionicio Salazar, captured

Dionicio Salazar, the twenty five year old man, who had been named in the brutal murder of Marlon Rivera and shooting of Dean Dougal, has been captured. Police caught up with Salazar on Thursday afternoon in Belize City following a tip to Crime Stoppers. The shooting occurred on June thirteenth in San Ignacio near the Police Station and the family of one of the victims says that it has been eleven days of anxiety but they are now glad that the suspect has been caught. The capture of Salazar was very personal for Alberto August, the editor of San Ignacio’s Star newspaper. Salazar was convicted of killing his eldest son eight years ago, and during the incident earlier this month, he almost killed August’s brother Dougal. August made it his mission to post pictures of the wanted man throughout the Cayo District and also sent updates to the media.

“In the operation, which successfully ended at around three p.m. yesterday, this individual was found inside a house located at number 38 McKenzie Lane in the Port Loyola area of Belize City. While the capture of this accused murder is encouraging, the pain caused to Rivero family at the sudden loss of Marlon will take a very, very long time to disappear. My brother, Dean is fortunate to be alive today. He was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday and he is recuperating very well at home. The doctors are saying that there is no indication of any permanent disability. The family especially extends much gratitude to Dr. Rene Godoy and Dr. Guillermo Rivas as well as to the other doctors and nurses at the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan. The police are telling us that now with this man in custody, he will be served with documents for the reinstitution of murder charges in connection with the June twenty-eighth, 2004 chopping murder of my eldest son. Our personal experience in 2008 when this individual was acquitted by the trial judge and not by a jury of his peers, we want to continue maintaining confidence in the justice system of this country. And so quite frankly, we have just one request for the honorable Chief Justice or the registrar of the Supreme Court or whoever it is that assigns cases to the various judges in the Supreme Court. And that singular request is for any future trials of this individual to be steered clear of the courtroom of that judge who sat in the 2008 trial of this individual.”

August said that his family owes many thanks to Senior Superintendent Russell Blackett for the long hours he participated in the search for Salazar.
If the police and DPP can convict this dangerous animal and Danny Anderson for some of their multiple crimes, that will be 2 down and 98 to go on the crusade to eliminate the 100 worst public enemies in the country. Then good people will be able to live in peace and security, and the country can rise from the hole it has been put in. I hope the press will eventually back a plan for an offensive against the 100 worst public enemies.

Notwithstanding, let me first draw on the illogical: Stabbing a person “Almost to Death” is a SERIOUS criminal offence for which an accused person can face the serious charge of ATTEMPT MURDER. These are matters that the police, the victim or the family of the victim do not take lightly. Ask yourself therefore, why was my son never arrested and charged for a crime of this serious magnitude? Do you want to know why? the plain and simple answer is because he committed no such crime.
Please now allow me to educate you on the Evas incident. A government official was visiting from Belize City and it came to my attention that he was inside the Faya Wata Night Club, a place not fitting for a person of his standing. This is not a place I visit and so since Dean is acquainted with the environment, I took him along with me to get this friend out of the Faya Wata Club. When I was walking out the club with the friend, this once convicted now accused murderer (your relative, I suspect) and at least one of his friends, were on the verge of causing harm to Dean and upon seeing me exiting the club, this accused murderer and his friend moved in a threatening manner towards me and this was when I moved to my vehicle which was parked in front of Faya Wata to get my gun. I was held back by the same friend I took out of Faya Wata while this accused murderer and his friends ran off. Consider yourself now educated, Justin Salazar.

It seems that you know quite a lot concerning Dionicio, makes a person wonder if somehow you are connected to this case, maybe the police should investigate you as well. And also if you are attempting to write a comment that will appear on the worldwide web, then please learn how to write, and use proper grammer, and for god sake man learn how to spell. I can recall growing up back home that the name Salazar any where around San Ignacio and Santa Elena, were well connected to nazarene religion, and how the family use to practically ram it down other peoples throat, , why is it the case that one of thier own now becomes a double murderer, did the religion thing not work for them?
Such hatered you see the way August write, but I understand, who wouldn’t be when one of your own was murdered. But Bro your son was no innocent, what the guy Justin says about your son is true, but there are people who don’t deal with the law, they take the law to their own hand, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and yep, he took more than that. Well about the threat,
well I wouldn’t be surprize. As far as I know, Marlon was the only innocent.

I beleive that this is a way that we have to put our comments, not to be disrespecting anybody,………, Mr August wants to educate but he is not doing it the right way much less using the right words. Oh gosh. When i first heard the news it was said that dean and his friends were waiting for a taxi. now it changes and MR. August was presnt? hmm. I know that both mr. August son and salazar arent innocent guys. and at times justice need to be taken by citizens. and for cayo bouy, do you have an education son. we are all related as we come from one person. plus if i have your tittle doesnt means i am your immediate tittle get real.

Mr. August it is so said that dean is recovering but honestly we the people have seen him over the past week smoking and driving around. i hope jsutice charge him for false information and also look back at the informaiton given before to what is given know.

pffffttttttt new news same old story i grew up in San ignacio haven’t changed a bit but got worst hmmm really glad i left when i was 14 back in 1994 seems like the country is falling appart and guess who is to blame the people.. we can’t blame politicians or high rankers making money but ourselves for we are the ones who elected to put them there and fwi imo ( in My Opinion ) Most if not all government are corrupted lol I see it here everyday in the USA nothing special about up here either lol even more corrupted.
Mr. August thinks he’s all educated because he owns a newspaper “STAR”. He only tells his side of the story. I personally grew up wit Rodney and Marlon and knew Donicio as Jun, which I met in high school. None of these guys were ever saints, NEVER!! The San Ignacio and Santa Elena crap has been going on for many many years and nothing has been done to change it. As for Mr. August, you knew the truth about your son but as a parent you will never admit to it. Whosoever knew him knew the truth about him. Your lies will not cover up the truth to the ones who knew Rodney. Covering up only makes it worse and your way of educating is all BULL. Politics again though, its your newspaper so you can write whatever you want. I’ve learned that in life everyone gets what they deserve and its just unfortunate that some innocents do get caught in the middle of the fire but believe me when I say that none of these people( Rodney, Marlon, Donicio or your brother were innocent). 3 of these guys were my friends and its sad to see how things turned out for them.
