Slow burglar gets six years for breaking into fast food joint
Six years behind bars, that’s the sentence forty-six year old Rueben Galdamez got today for the attempted burglary of Edita’s Fast Food located near the Farmer’s Market. The Benque Viejo resident was caught in act on the morning of February twenty-fourth by a police officer who testified that he saw Galdamez stooping near a window of the fast food restaurant trying to gain entry into the premises. The cop hollered at Galdamez, who fled, but was soon caught in front of Brad’s Store. The owner of the restaurant, Amelia Jau, testified that when she made checks, she detected signs of forced entry but nothing was missing. Galdamez was unrepresented and in his defense, he claimed that he was drunk and can only remember sleeping on the bench of the restaurant but that he never attempted to break into the business place. He was imposed the sentence of six years in jail because he has a number of previous convictions for burglary, theft and other crimes.
Great Job Officer. Keep putting them behind bars!!
looks like the robbers get more years in jail than the killers of our people. six years in jail and lots of criminals walking free, what on earth is the law and justice system thinking and doing. it’s good for the robbers to get jail too but what about the criminals?
I guess he had it coming!!! ……But in 6 years…….. Will he be rehabilitated or return to a life of crime??????
he is worse than a pot licker, imagine going to jail for nothing, madas, now his excuse is that he was drunk, hmm what a foolish man.
See weh rum cause him, six years, let hope he learn a lesson and stay sober too, that is if John wood no provide rum for him ina prison, cause seems that kolby is a first class hotel for prisioners, that is why some of these criminals can’t wait to get in there.
AS I’VE SAID BEFORE THE COURT AND THE JAIL-SYSTEM HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING THAT THE JAIL IN BELIZE IS EQUIPPED ONLY FOR LOW RISKED CRIMINALS AND NOT HIGH-POWERED CRIMINALS SUCH MURDERERS ESPECIALLY THE GANG ONES.
