La Cafeteria burglar gets three years in prison
In the courts, a second person was convicted of attempted burglary this week. On Tuesday Rueben Galdamez got six years for the attempted burglary at Edita’s Fast Food located near Farmer’s Market. Today, Lancelot Arana was convicted of the same charge for an incident at La Cafeteria, located at the compound of the Port of Belize. On January twenty-seventh, Arana was caught by two security guards on the ground with a crow bar in hand attempting to break in. Arana tried to run but was captured and subdued by the two guards who later called for police back-up. That’s the police version, but in his defense, Arana told Magistrate Kathleen Lewis that he is innocent of the charge and that on the day in question, he was approached by one of the guards who asked him for a cigarette and when he refused, the guard attacked him. Arana also claimed he was set up by one of the guards who did not like him. But the evidence was against him and he was found guilty. Since his court records were clean, Arana will spend three years jail time.
Not even capable of common sense.
