No foul play suspected in death of administrator in Cuban Embassy

There are more details available on Wednesday’s sudden death of a Cuban Embassy employee. Embassy personnel are not authorized to provide interviews but it is known that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cuba will be deploying an official to Belize to assist with the tragedy.  On Thursday, afternoon the body of sixty-eight year old Joaquin Gilberto O’Farrill Pedroso was discovered at the Embassy by his wife, sixty-eight year old Milagros Virgen Vaillant, the Secretary of the Embassy.  She said she last saw her husband alive around nine on Thursday morning when he was leaving.  At some point O’Farrill returned to the Manantee Drive diplomatic mission where his body was discovered at around two in the afternoon.  A post mortem is being conducted to determine the cause of death but it is known that O’Farrill was suffering from hypertension.  O’Farrill was the Administrator/Accountant at the Embassy and had just recently arrived on mission in Belize. He was left in charge of the Embassy in the absence of Ambassador Manuel Rubido who left for Cuba earlier this week. The Head of Cuban Brigade, Doctora Torres is currently in charge of arrangements until the arrival of the personnel from headquarters.
