Only 1 ½ months into life sentence; Clarence Hemmans wants out

Clarence Hemmans

In court, Clarence Hemmans was convicted on May twenty-first of the murder of Kevin Arnold, and eleven days later, he was handed a sentence of life imprisonment. Hemmans has served just over a month since conviction, and already there are signs he doesn’t intend to spend life behind bars. During a routine check at the prison this morning, a handcuff key was found inside his tennis shoes. No charges were levied, but authorities believe Hemmans was planning to escape today on his way to court for an Attempted Murder case he has pending. That did not deter authorities and the twenty year old inmate was escorted to court, but instead of only handcuffs, shackles were also placed on his feet for added security. Arnold was gunned down on May twenty-seventh, 2007 as he walked on Armadillo Street heading towards his girlfriend Shiana White.

Any smart police man would have pretended that he did not see the key and then shoot him as he tries to escape the law, tax payers should not be forced with the burden of feeding this animal.

where did the animal get the key’s from anyway?
    inside job?

  4. Elgin Martinez says:

I thought you were a bad man.Do your time.

The strory should be reading that no charges have been filed as of yet! There are a few questions that needs answering. How did he get that key? From where? Whom? Who have been in contact with him? Is there are conspiracy? Among inmates? The Prison Officers?
This person is a killer, convicted as it is and there is an attempted murder charge. Someone seems tio be asleep at the switch and my hopes are that it is the media not reporting the full story and not the prison/police authorities being lax at their jobs. We are at a crucial crossroad in Belize regarding crime and criminality!

The entire system is so corrupted.Who else can this guy the key to his handkuffs from but a priso officer or someone in authority at the prison department..The Belizean Citizens to start hold these people accountable. The police department can’t keep track of their case files,Now the Prison officers can’t keep track of their keys. What’s next Barrow won’t be able to find the keys to his office?

Send them all back ….We have enough criminals! You do the time where you did the crime… it is called “Jourisdiction”! The US has the financial resources to take care of these prisoners. It cost thousands of dollars to feed, clothe, and shelter them and this money can be used to help the poor in Belize.

When are the Belizean people going to stand up and DEMAND THAT THE DEATH PENALTY BE BROUGHT BACK? I am tired of these animals killing people just for the sake of killing. C’mon Belizeans, have some cojones and demand the death penalty.

  15. M Pacheco says:

The prison dept. need better accountability of teir equipment. All inmates should be searched before and when they cme back from court key could have been passed on visit. This early into his time he start with this imagine more to come for the balance of his sentence , put him on lock down.

  16. llcool j says:
