Orange Walk man sentenced to life in prison for murder
On June seventeenth of this year, twenty-two year old Arturo Eck was found guilty of the November 2007 murder of Eugenio Tzul. This morning in Orange Walk’s magistrate court, Justice Michelle Arana sentenced Eck to life imprisonment. No character witnesses were called but on behalf of Tzul, his attorney Hubert Elrington begged for leniency on his behalf and said that his client was very remorseful for his actions. Elrington also gave notice that he is appealing the verdict. In 2007 while he was nineteen years old, Eck was accused of beating forty nine year old San Joaquin villager Eugenio Tzul to death after he claimed Tzul had taken sexual advantage of him. Tzul lifeless body was found by his brother outside his home. He had been strangled to death with a wire and was sodomized with an antenna.
With all that has been coming to light about sexual abuse of children, is it possible that this young man may be telling the truth?. His solution was extreme but if he is telling the truth, he should have been convicted for something less than murder. Did they even bother to check the victim’s history?
It is sad when we listen about these things in the news but sometimes it’s not only the youth to blame but in fact the parents. We as parent have to guide and teach our kids values and morals,it’s a shame to hear that young boys and girls are already drinking at an early age .How can this be ???
Good for him, now he have his entire life to think about what he did, I hope when he comes out of prison he is a change person, and yes I blame the parents,I believe they were never their for him, but he could have chosen another lifestyle, instead he chose to take drugs and kill, most peopel living in his village know he is ..,…………. or whatever you call it.
He will be in a better place now, cause he could have hurt a little boy!!
