Court reporter Roy Davis charged for assaulting a cop
There’s another court personality in trouble with the law. After an overnight in police custody, fifty-six year Roy Davis, a freelance court reporter and photographer, is out on a thousand dollars bail. Davis was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court for assaulting and harming Special Constable Wellington Welch. Davis was arrested at around two-thirty p.m. on Thursday inside the court. It is alleged that Welch approached Davis and asked him what was the nature of his presence inside the courtroom. And according to eyewitnesses, that’s when there was physical contact between the two. While being escorted away, Davis said it was the officer who pushed first, which caused him to react. This morning Davis surmised that Welch was being malicious towards him because of a recent beef. He said that it may have stemmed from an earlier incident at the Queen Street Police Station where he claimed that Welch advised some accused persons who he was escorting to court to cover their faces as the court reporters were waiting outside to take their pictures. Davis’ woes started two weeks ago when his bike was stolen and he claimed that a police officer did not want to intervene.

yeah, crazy people are just running around in belize, even respectable people like Davis.
A police nicely approached him and respectably asked what was the nature of his visit, and he immediately ponced on the nice, gentle and respectful ofiicer.
fate keeps happening , where the police are concern.
As i recall, there are more than one police officers who have misunderstandings with Mr. Davis. You can’t believe anything the police says. That police knew well who Mr. Davis was and why he was there in the courtroom. So why harass him? unless the police was trying to instigate something so that he can arrest and charge Mr. Davis with some bogus charge just to get back at him for a previous misunderstanding….crooked cops like these give the department a black eye everytime….
maddyvandijk, were you in the court room that day? How on Earth do you know that a “police nicely approached him and respectably asked what was the nature of his visit, and he immediately ponced on the nice, gentle and respectful ofiicer” WTF, mate?! You weren’t THERE! You DON’T know!!!
A Court Reporter….. should be in the courtroom…. WHERE ELSE?????????
