Not too smart move: drug charges dropped, but she lied about her name

Twenty six year old Elizabeth Godoy who was dismissed of a drug trafficking charge on Monday was today back before Magistrate Albert Hoare to answer to the charge of committing a mischievous act. Godoy, under oath, lied to the court about her identity. She told Magistrate Dorothy Flowers two days ago that her name was Rosa Roches; however, during the adjournment of the case she was in court for, police discovered that her real name was Elizabeth Godoy. The misdemeanor was Godoy’s first offense and because of its nature she was imposed a non-custodial sentence and fined fifty dollars plus the cost of court.
On Saturday, July 17th, Godoy along with a family of three women and another family friend were arrested and jointly charged for drug trafficking when Belize City police raided a home on Peter Ashdown Street in the Belama Phase Two area where they discovered a hundred and thirty grams of marijuana. In court on Monday twenty year old Carol Lopez owned up to possession of the drug but said that she uses marijuana medicinally as she suffers from asthma. Godoy, who pleaded guilty to the charge of committing a mischievous act has until August 20th to pay her fine or in default will serve two weeks in prison.
Could easily be the act of a man high on crack or whatever.

Hopefully she learned from this experience.
How come with so much technology now a days, the police department does not have a data base where a name and a picture can be put together. It does not seem like brain surgery but i guess that is not a priority for the department or they will simply say..we no have money for that. We are so far back when it comes to fighting crime..yet the criminal elements take full advantage of the latest in technology…
