Police want to question an at large ACC student about Matura’s murder

Giovanni Lauriano

Ladyville police have made in-roads in two recent murders.  With respect to the murder last Thursday of eighteen year old Anthony Matura in Ladyville, police are looking for a fifteen year old student of Anglican Cathedral College who is at large.  An eyewitness has placed the minor at the scene at the time of the incident.  Anthony Matura was stabbed to the chest shortly after he got off a bus from Belize City around four that afternoon.  He had been with his father earlier that day in the City.  The suspected murder weapon was discovered the following day near the Ladyville Police Station with bloodstains still on it.

Ladyville police have also detained a man in connection with the murder of thirty-two year old Giovanni Lauriano.  The Ladyville suspect has been in custody since Tuesday pending investigations for the Sunday afternoon shooting death of Lauriano.  But no charges have been brought against the suspect.

Lauriano was driving to his home in Hattieville when someone trailing him in another vehicle shot at his car at around mile sixteen on the Western Highway.  He ran off the road and tried to escape his attacker by foot but was shot several times in the head.

School fees are a sacrifice most parents gladly make & others wish they could. I hope this child did not screw up his life because he followed his friends or could find nothing better to do with his time since school is out.

A 15 year old cannot simply disappear, someone is hiding him. I hope the parents or whomever this child lives with will allow him to at minimum speak to the authorities even if he does so with a lawyer. If he did it, let him face the consequences, the cycle of violence & retaliation cannot stop when parents fail to face reality,

If the boy is on a downward spiral, this may be his reality check.

How ironic that so quickly they can apprehend a suspect in a big time gang leader death, what happen to all the other unsolved murder cases of victims who does not have any gang affiliation and the Police cannot find their killers?
