Bicycle and tire thieves deflated in court
An entrepreneur and a taxi driver were charged with Theft in Magistrate’s Court this morning. Forty-four year old Francisco Conorquie’s case came up first and he was accused of stealing a bicycle and fifty dollars from Leonard Gordon. Gordon said he lent Conorquie his bike and gave him the cash to do an errand on Tuesday, but he disappeared. Conorquie pleaded guilty to the charge of theft, but claimed that while he did take the money, the bike was stolen from him. Since he had no previous convictions, Conorquie was fined seven hundred fifty dollars to be paid by September fifteenth.
The second case was that of thirty year old Lawrence Simpson. The allegations against him are that he stole a vehicle tire and rim, valuing two hundred and seventy-five dollars from Kathleen Staine. That alleged theft also occurred this past Tuesday. In court, Simpson, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charge of Theft and was offered bail in the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars. He goes back to court on October fourteenth.
Need to start registering bikes again plus it’s a great source of revenue.
Good comment Pacheco….just that I dont think politicians take time out to visit this site
What the police should do is To stop all those individuals carrying another bicycle along side, more likely thats a stolen bike, take them in for questioning to get information for that bicycle
