Four men charged for robbery of Brodies Agrochemical
On Friday, thirty two year old Silverio Hernandez, a supervisor of Brodies Agrochemical was inside his office when a man, alleged to be Edward Usher, entered the office and ordered the employees to remain still. Another person, a seventeen year old minor followed Usher into the building holding the two security guards at gunpoint.
The two robbers proceeded to rob the employees of cash and valuables. The men got away in a Toyota Privia driven by Godwin Silas. Police pursued them and recovered the handgun, the cash, and stolen items in the van on Mahogany Street. Today four men were arraigned before Senior Magistrate, Sharon Frazer for Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition and Handling Stolen Goods. They are Edward Usher, Gerald Jones, Godwin Silas, and the seventeen year old minor. The minor and Usher were additionally charged with robbery. Silas was represented by attorney, Hubert Elrington while the other three were unrepresented. Due to the nature of the offenses, the men were denied bail and remanded to the Hattieville Prison until September ninth.
