Is it fair for Belizeans to wait 4yrs for Kendall Bridge?
Back in 2008, the Kendall Bridge in southern Belize was washed away by Tropical Arthur. A causeway was built as a temporary measure but whenever the rains cause flooding, the south of country is inaccessible. There is now word that it will take another two years for a new bridge to be put in place. If you do the math, it means the photo op for the bridge will be at around election time. The question tonight is: Do you think that it is fair for Belizeans to wait four years for the completion of a new Kendall bridge in the south? Absolutely no news my Belizean brothers and sisters. I keep saying it from time to time, GOB whether it may be P.U.P or U.D.P/N.I.P. don’t give a Rats a-s about the “THE FORGOTTEN SOUTH” This is the way it’s always been since Colonialism. There’s no such thing as being fair, it’s not in their vocobulary. “Damn if they do and damn if they don’t”, I’m pretty sure most of us in the south feels the same way. We have held our own since king hatchet was a hammer. We have passed through the worst on our own with little help if any from the Idiots within the House (Circus). Most of us in “THE FORGOTTEN SOUTH” are not as stupid as they think. We as Southern Belizeans are immune to the political abandonment and ignorance of the “Jack A–es” them. We are appreciative of whatever they so decide to throw our way even though at the end of the day, we know that they always do whatever they do for us for their own political benefit. So, “Who’s fooling who?”.
If the bridge that lasts 80 years will take a little longer to erect than that 30 year bridge, an extra year may not be the worse that can happen to the residents. I remember crossing the river on the Burrell Boom ferry, to find out that the bridge used to replace the ferry is now compromised, suggests poor planning,
The inconvenience of a ferry or having to take a longer route for a year or two is easier to stomach than building a substandard structure whose failure could be catastrophic.. So they intend to use this as part of the election tactic, that’s expected.
Not fair for us to wait 4years for a bridge.
I THINK THIS IS A POLITICAL THING NOW, THEY’LL WAIT OT SEE IF THE PEOPLE IN THAT AREA ARE WILLING TO VOTE FOR THEM THEN THEY ARE GOING TO START TO BUILD THE BRIDGE ON THE EVE OF ELECTION TIME WHICH LATER IFTHE OTHER PARTY COMES THEY’LL HAVETO FINISH IT, THAT’S HOW THESE TWO PARTIES WORK. I THINK THEY SHOULD EXPLAIN IN DETAIL WHY WILL IT TAKE SO LONG TO BIULD AND WHY IT’S SCHEDULED TO FI8NISH AORUND ELECTION TIME.
Hell no,that’s bull.
We should all know by now! Belizean politicians will take any advantage possible. The constructing of a new Kendall Bridge
in their sense of understanding would be more convenient when
elections are near. The people of this country need to make them know that we are awake and know their plans. I cannot see any reason for government to wait two years.
good thing channel 5 brings this up. it’s all politically motivated. lucky think stann creek area south area rep .. hurse or house or hulse.. the mada fish dude will not be running any more.. that’s one good news..
“thatz bs,but what can we expect about the[UDP} governemnet ….they don’t have money to build a new bridge, but have money to purchase new latest suv’s for gapy vega\pablo marin and other ministers of gov’t, and for the worst part now it will take about 4 to 5 years to complete the new kendal bridge, thatz a shame!!!, where are our tax dollars-KILLA VAT= {25%] GST, oil revenues ,import duties, this UDP gov’t IS GETTING WORST DAY BY DAY….only lois young barrow is getting a high salary, she has collected about 2 million tax payers moneys, why NOT cut her salary….how about anwar barrow\all the cronies from BTL, cut their salaries too,and maybe start do someting for the belizean people…we’ve waited tooooo long..BUT LIKE THE PRIME MINISTER said before we can only ‘IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES”, Belizeans wake up.
