Daughter of Murder Victim says no more violence

russel neal

Lord Ridge caretaker, Russel Neal, was well loved. According to friends and family members, he was a kind man. Testimonials were given by others whom he gave shelter when they were homeless or money from his pockets when they were hungry. That is what Melanie Belisle, Neal’s girlfriend said today following his murder on Tuesday night.  But News Five also spoke to Neal’s step son and his daughter who are mourning and say their mother and siblings had nothing to do with his death. In fact, life will be much harder without him around and they don’t want any more violence.

Jose Sanchez, Reporting

The murder of Russel Neal, the caretaker of the Lord Ridge Cemetery was untimely.  Neal’s girlfriend, who was with him in his home on Neal Pen Road, recounted the last few minutes of his life.

Melanie Belisle, Girlfriend of Russel Neal

“We  watched movies, we made a pallet, laid down, watched a few movies and everything and fell asleep. Around maybe minutes to one or maybe a little bit after one, we heard a loud sound which woke us up. I went into the room, the noise stopped so he kinda peeked around the door. He couldn’t see anything, he walked towards the room, a few minutes later he went towards the window in the kitchen, peaked out the window and I heard glass break. I didn’t hear a gunshot, I just heard glass break and he said he had gotten shot. He came into the room stumbled a little and fell to the floor. I grabbed a towel and I started applying pressure and told him to hold it so I can call 911.”

Since the incident occurred, accusations have been made against the sons of Bernadette Iguarto. Iguarto has one child with Neal. Her son said today that he spoke to Neal after the incident with his mother, but he had nothing to do with his death.

Voice of:  Son of Bernadette Iguarto

Bernadette and one of her sons have been locked up.  No one feels the pain more than Rochlee Neal since it’s her father who was murdered and her mother is locked up.

Rochlee Neal, Daughter of Russel Neal

“My ma and my bredda dehn noh know nothing bout dat. My ma and my bredda dehn noh know nothing bout how my pa dead. Jose Sanchez

He even helped the homeless. Some people may feel so offended they may want revenge and maybe wrongfully so. What is it that you want to see come out of this entire situation? We can’t bring him back.”

Rochlee Neal

“We noh want no revenge. I dah ih daughter and I di seh we noh want no revenge. We just want police do wah proper investigation because my bredda dehn noh got nothing fi do wid dat. Reporting for News Five, Jose Sanchez.

For clarification purposes, Neal’s wife, the woman who showed up at Iguarto’s residence, is a police officer.  Bernadette Iguarto has one child, Rochlee with Neal, and Melanie Belisle is an old girlfriend who returned from the United States three months ago.

What a tough position for this 14 year old to be in. No matter who killed her father, she pays the price.

  2. BZNinCALI says:

$250.00 for a life? How the hell does a 14 year old know how much it costs to put a contract out on someone. She does an excellent job as an advocate for her mother & brothers, too bad these people could not work together to get along so that they could see how bright her light could shine.

  6. belizeanpride says:

the threat this lady made verbally to this old guy is realy concerning, “maybe ” it’s not her sons who did it BUT she might have playeda role in the execution on this old working guy. i mean it a $50.00 maybe a spranghead would kill anybody worst a wellknown guy like Mr. Russel. I plead the crime branch to please investigate this crime fully, this guy was threaten before his death so automatically this lady had something do to with his death, i don’t believe it was robbery since they never stole nothing ,it was exaclty execution and the killer/s left the house. we need to report every threat that is being donwe to any individual and not take things for granted like this one. Please show the pic of the lady mein.

George, we have lost at least three from your generation who returned home to live. All 3 were murdered & like this one, no one is being punished. Two were from your side of town.

The PM will be in our yard this weekend, show up, voice your concerns.

At least ONE PERSON came forward and told the media about the argument and threats hurled at Weeno by the mother of his last child……HOURS later, he was killed!!!!

Well, no eye witnesses…..so, we all knows what that means…..

Another MURDERER BITES THE DUST AND GETS AWAY!!!

This is a norm in Belize now-a-days!!!
