Price of fuel at the pump goes up

Consumers got a small relief back on May twenty-third when fuel prices dipped slightly. But today News Five found out that the prices are back on the rise. As of midnight the price of premium gasoline increased to nine dollars and seventy-five cents from nine dollars and sixty-seven. Regular fuel rose from nine dollars and thirty-seven cents to now sell for nine-forty-four. And diesel, which was not affected by the decrease in May, is now seeing the largest increase. The price is taking a thirty-seven cent jump from eight dollars and fifteen cents to eight dollars and fifty-one cents.

Whats new, the Prime Minister and his Ministers and all the CEO’s don’t have to pay for gas so what do they care we pay for their gas. Imagine a trip to Belize city from the North is over a hundred dollars I don’t even spend that to go from LA to San Diego and that is a couple hours ride. Belize City is only an hour away.

  2. Earl Grey says:

They never tell you in advance THAT THE PRICE IS GOING UP……..do they?????

  3. boots says:

I can see where the poor people tax dollars are going when the ministers used government vehicle as private ride especially on weekend.

  4. living good in the usa says:

Didn’t the gov. discover crude oil in the spanish lookout area. This should of help fuel price from going up. So ask yourself where is all this crude oil is going and why we are paying tooooooooooooo much for fuel.

  5. lathguy says:

Get a discounted price from Pemex and get rid of Shell and Esso.

A very small city like Belize city, can you justify the number of vehicles? Do we really need to drive everywhere, this accounts for the obesity. Ask your parents, and grandparents what did they do to get out and about. Driving is a luxury not a necessity, and so if you choose to travel this way then you should pay for it. Fuel prices are not just high in Belize, check the US prices on the internet. The only people who should have the need to drive around are businesses, such as delivery vehicles, workmen with their tools, ambulances, the police etc, and they should paid a different price. Perhaps people need to make some life style changes, it will do you good in the long run. Living good in the usa (legally, I hope) nobody discover oil and next day produce barrels and barrels of the stuff, there is a process.

Belize people have lousy sense when it comes to vehicle ownership. Fuel prices are high, yet you wah ride SUVs and other gas guzzlers. I’m always shocked to see the amount of fuel inefficient vehicles that seem to be preferred mode of transportation in Belize.

Your fuel prices are high and yet, you nuh wah entertain or develop wah culture of public transportation. You look down upon it. Like dah wah poor people ting.

Your fuel prices are high, yet you do nothing to accommodate cyclists on the street.

Our dependence on fuel and constant whining over fuel prices is laughable, especially in Belize City.
