Searchers find body of drowned teen
Search efforts lasted almost a full two days for a seventeen year old Gwen Lizarraga Student, who drowned on Sunday afternoon in the Camalote area. Rudyford Thompson Jr. went swimming with three friends and is believed to have suffered a cramp in the leg. Friends tried to help him, but the current was too strong and they had to let him go to avoid a double tragedy. Thompson’s body surfaced this afternoon and his mother, Lisa Miranda Palacio, told us via phone that while the rescue team was not in the area, he was discovered by a neighbour who visited the river.

“And what area of the river was he?”

“Di same area weh pah he was, just a few feet away from there.”
Miranda Palacio is now finalizing on funeral arrangements so the family can have the closure they were seeking.
We need more Forensic Pathologist in Belize.By the time Mario Estrada gets to this kid his findings is going to be different because apparently he’s waiting for the body to be decomposed.
Just the way everything in Belize is, nothing is an emergency especially if the person is already dead. As a public offcial/doctor his service is 1st to the people, this type of situation needed immediate attention even if he had an appointment with a patient follow-up or new.
I still don’t understand why if someone drown, they wa do autopsy…HELLO!!!! They poor youngman drowned. Why do we want to know if the lungs gave it before the heart? Lay his body to rest w/o autopsy and done.
RIP Rudyford.
To Proud! There has to be an autopsy. If it was your family you would not be saying the same thing. Where he drowned, the doctor still has to confirm that was the cause of death. It has nothing to do with wanting to know whether the lungs gave up b4 d heart….you r heartless!
Rudyford Thompson Jr. was A Very Good Person. He Was Quiet and always Kept to Him self. He was Very Outgoing and an Intellegent. Its was Very Shocking When I Heard The News Of His Death,It was very hard to believe. Rudyford Thompson Jr. Will Always Be remembered for the kind person that he was.The Class Is Also Grieving Of This Great Friend/Angel
On Behalf Of the Class Of 2W of Gwen Lizzarraga I Giovanni Moody Send My Deepest and Sincere Regrets for The Family and closest Friends Of Rudy Thompson Jr.
All the old Mario has to do is show up and not even that he is capable of doing these days, belize need a new doctor to replace the old one.
Proud, how do you know for sure he drowned?
he went swimming but that does not mean he drowned, sorry.
an autopsy is allways necessary or people could get away with murder.
