Two lucky individuals win the Lotto

The prize pot on Saturday’s lotto was a hundred and seventeen thousand five hundred dollars and when the numbers were announced, there was celebration, but not in only one household.  In fact, the last lotto draw produced two winners: seventy two year old Sandy Cabral, a businessman and the other, Joan Perrera—a cook and mother of five; but both shared much more in common than the five winning numbers.  They stated priority one as home repairs and declared that the money will come in handy for the work.

“No, well one time I had the five number but I didn’t buy them so I lose out of that one.  The money that I won will be for my house cause I have a house and I need to fix it up.”

“Yeah.”

“Of course, I will continue; nothing will change.”

“When you heard that you have to share the prize pot with somebody else, what went through your mind?”

“Well, I wish I had won everything but I’m satisfied with what I get.”

The winning numbers were: five, twelve, fifteen, eighteen, thirty-two and the free ticket letter was M as in money.  After taxes, Sandy Cabral and Joan Perrera took home forty nine thousand, nine hundred and thirty seven dollars and fifty cents.  The new jackpot prize returns to fifty thousand dollars for Wednesday night.
