Doctors get their day and charge in court
The case of the two fighting doctors marked the end of another chapter today as Doctors John Gough and Irvin Gabourel were finally charged in Belize City Magistrates’ Court. The two physicians—who fought publicly at the Santa Elena Border last week Tuesday, August eleventh—were each charged with one count of disorderly conduct. Yesterday, the men traveled north where they were expected to be arraigned but due to the excused absence of magistrates in both the Orange Walk and Corozal courts, they were brought to Belize City to face Chief Magistrate, Margaret Gabb McKenzie. Gough was represented by Ellis Arnold while Gabourel was represented by Dickie Bradley. After being read the single charge and both pleading not guilty, the magistrate offered both bail in the sum of two hundred dollars plus one surety of the same amount which they both met. The case was later adjourned until November eleventh of this year when both men are expected to appear in the Corozal Magistrate Court.
Why is the bail for these two idiots so low? What a joke had it been someone from a low income family their bail would have been about three thousand Dollars.Apparently the treatment you get in the Belizean Court System is based on your status in society. The wealthier you are the lower your bail. What a double standard.
Let’s be honest……. THIS IS VERY ENTERTAINING!!!!! however it is symptomatic of our SOCIETY’S GRASP FOR VIOLENCE OVER MEDIATION ……………. MAYBE They need to try meditation!!!!
