Mechanic charged for Carnal Knowledge of 13yr. old girl

A mechanic who was supposedly in hiding after being accused of carnal knowledge is in custody tonight. Police caught the suspect on Monday and detained him. This morning, twenty year old Joseph Adolphus was charged with one count of carnal knowledge for allegedly having sex with an underage girl on July third of this year. The thirteen year old student, in the company of her mother, reported to police that she visited Adolphus’ home at the corner of Lacroix and Police Streets in Belize City where she claims he engaged in sex with her. The report was only made last week Thursday, after a physical examination confirmed that she was carnally known. Today, Magistrate Dorothy Flowers did not accept a plea but ordered a preliminary inquiry to determine if there is sufficient evidence to have the matter committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Adolphus was denied bail and consequently remanded to the Central Prison in Hattieville until September thirtieth when he is scheduled to return to magistrate’s court.
At some point our men, young & old will realize that we have to start valuing our children, especially our young women if we want to grow as a people & see our society change.
The mindset has to change, our daughters need fathers at home to give them the confidence they need to make them less vulnerable to predators & most little punks like this one would have thought twice if he believed he had to face her father.

A child cannot consent to sex, and rape is rape.
he is a rat of your society, today is rape, tomorrow is murder, the day after tomorow is robbery, and since the police are no good with solving murders in Belize, they should try to prevent murder at any cost.

These young girls should start to be punished aswell because they are educated enough to know that thesse actions are wrong. In most of the cases it is consensual sex and when things go wrong they scream rape!

Well, I would blame parents for not having control over their own child. Where were the parents at that time? What on earth was she doing at that place? Decent girls don’t go were ever they feel like without their parents knowing. These young girls at the age of 8 knows what sex is and often go for it! After they consent to sex or are being raped they want to blame. If the rapist finds them that”s a different story but if the they finds the rapist them they should be punished!!

Many homes in Belize are broken, no fathers, no mothers, or single parent with hardly no income, or no parental guidance, this is why many young girls becomes victims of these preditors.
What we need to stop doing is to stop raping the child even more so by blaming her instead of protecting her.
That is totally wrong on the mans’ part. If he wanted sex that bad go to a brothel, Rauls Rose garden e.t.c. or get someone over 16 Isn’t that the age for consent in Belize? In other parts of the world it’s 18 but 13 whoa. To these young girls you are equally bad too, you know its wrong and I’m sure that guy wasn’t the first. Remember it takes two.
Karishie, Belizeanpride, Elena, a 13 year old cannot consent, men use a lot of reasons to justify taking advantage of little girls, from poverty to she does not look 13 & was asking for it but that does not make it right or more important, legal. There have been horrid cases of molestation & rape that have occurred in Belize over the years, that we are now doing something to curb the culture of blame the girl should be applauded. Too many children remain silent & become promiscuous because their parents do not want to rock the boat or face the shame. A few months ago, a 21 year old in Dangriga lost 2 kids in a house fire, her eldest was 7, she was described in many unflattering terms but it still goes back to her being molested & impregnated @ 13. About 10 years ago, a 13 year old was impregnated by her Primary School teacher; under the guise of tutoring her, she was encouraged to arrive early. Another fool “accidentally” raped his two year old stepchild in the 80s. Many of us who grew up in Belize have tales about dirty old men, young ones too. We also had parents who would whip our backsides if we went into a pervert’s home, the adults looked out for all the children in our communities & would make sure we did not fall victims to our own stupidity & innocence Let’s not victimize this child again.
