Friend knocks friend into an unconscious state

Jarett Tablada

The term frenemy has recently been added to the dictionary to describe a person who pretends to be a friend but is actually an enemy. Why bring that up you might ask…well an incident on the Hattieville/Boom Road just might exemplify the nature of such a relationship. Jarrett Tablada—a twenty-eight year-old BDF soldier—was charged today with wounding an old school friend, Michael Moore after he allegedly hit him in the head on July twenty fifth and left him unconscious on the road side. According to police reports, the two were socializing over drinks at the Bull Shop near the Roundabout on the Hattieville Boom road when they had a misunderstanding. According to Moore, the two had a verbal exchange after he touched Tablada behind his head in what he described as a friendly manner since they were old school friends. He said that’s when Tablada told him, “No mess with me, ah wah frig yuh up.” Moore said shortly thereafter he left the area and was heading to the junction of the road when about ten feet from the junction, he felt a blow to the left side of the ear and he fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Police were called to the scene and found Moore lying on the ground face up in a pool of blood in an unconscious state. Moore was taken by Bert ambulance to the KHMH and later regained consciousness but remained hospitalized for two days.   Upon his discharge from the hospital, on July twenty seventh, Moore filed a police report and named Tablada as his suspected attacker due to the previous altercation and the threat to hurt him. This morning in Court number four Tablada appeared unrepresented and was read the single charge to which he pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was offered bail in the sum of eight hundred dollars plus one surety of the same amount, which he met.  He is due back in court on September twenty eighth.
