Four new magistrates sworn in
There are some new faces in the Magistracy. Today four new magistrates took the oath and will replace four others who for one reason or another, will move on from their posts. The newly sworn-in law officers are Patricia Arana, who was with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, former journalist with the Reporter Newspaper, Adolph Lucas Junior, former Police Inspector, Linden Flowers and Keila Teck. The Magistrates will replace Magistrates Tracey Sosa in Orange Walk and Rachel Montejo in Cayo, who will both reportedly move on to private practice, and Magistrates Kathleen Lewis and Edd P Usher, who will both go on to become trained attorneys.
If the Government is paying for the law degrees, I hope we are still requiring that they return & work as Public Servants to pay us back. Congratulations ladies & gentlemen, I hope you all all we ask is that you follow the laws & use common sense along with discretion. Good luck.
