Lisa Matura says her son Jermaine is innocent of murder charge

Earlier in the day Jermaine Matura appeared in the Family Court because his mother, Lisa, claimed he was a minor but checks by the court determined Jermaine is eighteen years old. It is believed that Jermaine was one of three men who entered Yue’s Store when proprietor Huandi Zhang, Hellen and Ziren Yu were attacked and robbed at gunpoint of several items including a pair of cellular phones and cash. Zhang was hit in the face with the weapon before the men opened fire fatally wounding Hellen. Lisa Matura says her son initially refused to participate in an identification parade because he is innocent of the crime.

When my son come out now ih say that di police dehn tell he dat wah Chiney lady point he out but I neva si no Chiney lady deh sir. I si two Chiney man there and I not even sure if dehn mi di deh fi go ID nobody because dehn not even mi deh pan di crime scene fi mi si who dah dehn person yah so dehn couldn’t even go ID nobody.”
Jermaine was denied bail due to the nature of the offences and is scheduled to reappear in court on September twenty-seventh. Lisa could face a criminal charge for committing a mischievous act in respect of her son’s age.
Mammie, get a grip. The Chinese men were there because they understand that there is strength in numbers & they will not allow you or some other knucklehead in denial about her child/children to intimidate their women into silence.Our men used to have balls & when they lived up to their roles as men, we had a community that though poor was safe. As parents we love our children unconditionally but they have to pay for their mistakes.

Dishonesty- in that community has taken it’s root, and the mother should be charged also for inventing a false alibi for her son after he helped or personally murdered someone else.

Sorry lady, but to late to try to do something “good” for your son…. you reap what you sow….. POOR PARENTING again!!! Have a talk with the aprents of Helen….. you think your grief is overwhelming?? talk to them… you at least have the comfort that the monster YOU created is causing you so much grief…. as for Helen’s parents… what was their fault?? being hardworking honest people??

Regarding this Lisa Matura thats a part of the problems as well in , some parents raise their kids with no morals, then when something bad happens they kill somebody or they get killed they defend these no good thugs, Belize will be losing out on a lot of money from tourists and Belizean/Americans as well people do not want to become a target in their own country. What is wrong with the Belizean govt. like the other guy said they need to start begging for money to defend the country of Belize …………………………………do something.

How dare this woman, well I can’t call her mother cause mothers knowa how to raise good children, stand in front of the entire nations and talk like that, woman your son is guilty and you are as guilty as him, but guess what, you knew sooner ar later you would have reap what you sewed!!

I agree with everyone, these parents are to blame I am so sick of these worthless mothers getting in front of the camera saying their monsters are innocent when they know in their heart they gave birth to heartless monsters, thieves and murderers. Unfortunately there will be no justice I am sure he will be out killing someone else’s child or robbing someone else’s home of their belongings and memories.
Thats why the crime will never stop because of mothers like you,ready to say ”my son is innocent” you can’t watch your child 24-4-7 and I’am glad they deny his a** bail and I believe when they prove he is guilty they should hang him this the only way these crazy crimes will stop,hang his butt.

That is crazy, too often mothers go on the news n say their child is innocent. How can she 1. Cover up the boys age – she doesn’t know how old he is? And 2. Stand there n say they would frame him? That’s the problem as all the previous bloggers have pointed out – BAD PARENTING – I think she should b charged with a misdemeanor, maybe charge her with obstruction n wasting the family court time – n the boy needs to b hanged n made an example of.
I saw a little boy, about 4 years old trying to cross the C.A. Boulevard today, around 11:30. His elder brother was on the kerb shouting “Cross now!” when he saw a gap in the traffic. Not tthing wrong with that, you may think, big brither looking out for his younger sibling, BUT the little one was carrying a bottle of beer in a black plastic bag. He’d obviously been sent to buy it by a very caring and loving parent – just like the one in this news report!
From little acorns grow big oak trees – he’s 4 years old now, breaking the law by buying beer, will no doubt either not attend school, or not graduate because the ‘parent’ will be ‘poor’ (but can afford beer) and therefore won’t pay school fees, buy books & uniforms etc., and sadly, by the time he’s 16 or 18, will either be in jail or dead.
Shame on that so-called parent, and shame on the shopkeeper who sold the little boy, or his brother (about 8) the beer!
