The core sampler which once caused a riot in the sugar belt is stolen
Remember the core sampler? It was at the center of a huge controversy with the cane farmers in the north when it was introduced in testing for cane quality in January 2009. Farmers resorted to a massive riot at Tower Hill, which ended fatally for Atanacio Gutierrez, who was shot and killed during the unrest. The use of the core sampler was suspended and it was later decided that it would be sold and replaced with another quality assurance mechanism. Well that highly controversial, sixty thousand dollar piece of equipment is now missing. Marcos Osorio, the Manager of the Belize Sugar Industry Control Board reported on Monday that sometime between July tenth and August twenty-eighth, the Sugar Cane Quality Control Authority Building at the BSI compound was burglarized and the core sampler was among the items stolen. It is not known how that piece of equipment was removed from the compound. Also missing was a sixty thousand dollar Hydraulic Press and other items adding up to a total of one hundred and twenty-eight thousand, five hundred and ninety dollars.
it is clearly the work of internal HIGH RANKING thiefs….
simple observations:
a.) the core sampler is a BIG EQUIPMENT;
b.) it requires of TECHNICIANS to disassemble it;
c.) the LOCATION of the core sampler is infront of two major buildings which have SECURITIES;
d.) the TIME, cannot be removed in one day
e.) it would be VISIBLE when the equipment was removed and transported from the compound
f.) who would have a USE of a core-sampler in Belize ?
That CORE SAMPLER and the HYDRAULIC PRESS are sure heading or its already in the Mexican side, to be exact, at the municipality of “EL INGENIO”. If those equipment have a numbering and the proper documents of purchase are available, it can be retrieved if the Mexican Authorities want to help.
If there is no real investigation, it simply means that the money of the sale was shared by HIGH RANKING officials of BSI.
How does someone steal a HUGE core sampler from a very well guarded compound??? This definately is an inside job.

First the farmers neva want it…..should be easy to find who did it.
The farmers were never EDUCATED ON THE CORE SAMPLER, that is why they rejected it. They should have been TAUGHT HOW TO IMPROVE THEIR CROPS TO MEET THE STANDARDS OF the core sampler.

Maybe wan lee breeze pass by and took it away, or some artificial superman woek all night to dismantle it and took it away, or maybe these high ranking thiefs but to workers and security to sleep and BAM when they wake up !! Sampler gone.

Of course it’s an inside job, how can something like that happen without security knowing, I say fire all of them there are many people that would appreciate those jobs in these hard times.
