The office of attorney Godfrey Smith was burglarized on the eve of the tenth. Today, five men who were captured on surveillance camera were arraigned on charges of burglary. They are Fredrick Waight, Mark Alamilla, Jose Caliz, Charles Neal, and Michael Fairweather, all from

Belize City. The accused appeared before Magistrate Emmerson Banner for allegedly burglarizing the law firm at Marine Parade and stealing a black iron safe with documents, a cash pan containing four thousand dollars and a cell phone.

The men pleaded not guilty to the charges and bail was offered in the sum of six thousand each. By four this afternoon, only Fairweather had secured bail and the others were remanded to the Hattieville Prison until their next court date set for October thirteenth.

Natalie Palacio, the Office Manager of the law firm, reported to police that when she arrived at work, she noted that the bathroom window had been tampered with and that several items were missing.

The camera captured the men burglarizing the building at about two-thirty in the morning. The empty safe and cash pan were found at Munoz Alley, in the vicinity of where three of the men reside.
Is this the same Mark Alamilla who beat a murder rap a few years ago? Maybe he & his buddies went to collect the balance of the money he paid to stay out of jail.
Let’s hope this time the surveillance camera footage can help to convict these princes.
Magistrate Emmerson Banner is a no good Magistrate and should be delivered from his new post as soon as possible.
His first day at court started off with BAIL, and seemed to be continuing down the same path, this idiot has issues.

Just for pleading not guilty they should automatically get another 2 yrs added unto their sentence. The audacity of these criminals these days. In fact, hang them, cause they stealing now next they’ll b killing a baby – criminals n no good!

Magristrate Banner’s high level of stupidity and ignorance is so obvious from the first day…what more evidence you want. Just proves the level incompetent magistrates that are being appointed. Must be the PM or some politician friend…
They were caught on camera and was given the opportunity to plea “not guilty”. Stop wasting the prosecution and the courts time…….these idiots guilty as sin. I cannot understand why these kinda people are let out back into society to cause more harm to more innocent people. They need to spend time and think about what they did. When these criminal get away with minimal crimes this only lead to more greater crimes…….because they know that they will not be prosecuted. The court need to lock down everyone that comes before them for stealing, murder and all those major crimes…..stop wasting taxpayers money…….and mek they work agriculture when they go to jail to help feed themselves. This nonsense is what creating a lot of problems in the society…….when u commit a crime serve your time. Mothers stop being the upholders of your criminal children…..you will cry later for them!

These guys were only arraigned, not tried, by the magistrate. On arraignment they offer a plea to the charges brought against them. If they plead not guilty it goes to trial. Granting or not granting bail is not tantamount with punishment. That will come after the trial, if the accused are convicted.

people.how do you know that these guys are guilty.i personally know them and know that police just picked up 6 people and charged them.they aren’t on camera.up to today the c.i.b. that charged these young men is going around trying to figure out who is on the camera.such thoughtless comments that u make.suppose it was your son.take this thought.if they had their faces on camera ,why didn’t they show it on news like the rest of on camera robberies and burglaries that happened.everyone that commented up here has no idea the corruption in our police system.if you all were victims of the police then you would know.don’t paint someone black because our stupid untrained police are looking for someone to blame for their (pleasure )and just to say that hey have made arrest.i am from that area and i know who did that crime. and you guys have no idea .but what can this blog do.after all if a thousand people came out it would mean nothing in belize.whether we are fighting starvation or corruption.this is belize.if u want to know more.set up a blog here.i know all about the so called case.these guys did not go on id parade.nor were they shown the camera.and remember this .i personally know that the six men on the camera footage had shirts covering their faces.how can a man be guilty if u can only see his eyes .are you god or just stupip???
