Lyndon Mangar, murdered in Teakettle
Aside from the four homicides in the City, two additional bodies were found in the west. In Teakettle, dogs alerted a villager to a body that was found off a dirt road. The father of five children had left his Esperanza home to visit his daughter; he never made it. A single shot to his back caused his death. News Five’s Marion Ali reports from the Teakettle.
The peace and quiet in Teakettle Village was disrupted by news of a murder. A man was killed on a dirt road just a few hundred yards off the Western Highway sometime Thursday night but discovered on Friday morning.
“The man who made the discovery, Lamberto Pop, was riding here on the Young Gial Road sometime after midday on Friday when his attention was drawn somewhere in this area. Pop told News Five that when he stopped to check he made the grisly discovery.”
Lamberto Pop, Discovered Body
“I just passed there, I gone to work. So when I coming back now, like between twelve and one soh. Coming back now, I hear dogs fighting and fighting there. So I just make my mind fi go take wah look because you could see the body because it was just like from hre to that road side there. I saw the body there and from there I got frightened and I went and hollered for help there.”
Pop went to a nearby store to call for the police and when they arrived, they identified the victim as thirty two year old Lyndon Mangar, a father of five who lived in Esperanza Village. Mangar’s family says that he was going to visit a daughter who lived with his ex-wife when he met his fate. He was shot to the lower left portion of back.
Ken Mangar, Brother of Murder Victim
“Before he died he told my mother that his ex-wife wanted him to see his little daughter.”
Marion Ali
“They live off the Young Gial Road?”
Ken Mangar
“Well, his ex-wife, but they are not presently living together. So they went and it was in the night—that was Thursday night. That was when the incident occured and he gone and actually I noh know if ih mi see ih daughter or not, but that dah when ih get killed. He told my mother also that before about two weeks or a month, he had a conflict with his ex-wife common-law husband.”
While this is one of the angles which Belmopan police are exploring, they have not detained anyone. They have also not recovered any slugs from the scene. Meanwhile, this gruesome act has left Mangar’s relatives calling for what every other aggrieved family wants – justice.
Ken Mangar
“It is very shocking to us because my little brother was very cool, he was humble. He wasn’t a drinking, smoker or anything like that. We are really concerned about our brother and all we want to seek is justice.”
Marion Ali for News Five.
Mangar did not live for his thirty-third birthday in October. Instead he will be buried in the next few days.

ONLY A COWARD SHOOTS SOMEONE IN THE BACK!!!!!!!!!
Did the reporter ever visited the belmopan police station to confirm if no one was detain any at all? I think this report is missing some facts.
The villages are getting infected with the death virus.
The husband of the ex-wife shot the man in his back, go find him.
I am sure the ex wife is a great woman & wanted her daughter to remain close to her father but I say sweat her until she gives up the truth. Ladies, too many of our men have lost their minds, you need to have a conscience & not misuse your children & cause them grief. I want to believe that no mother would encourage her new man to take the old one out but it is safe to assume Mr.Mangar did not commit suicide. Or maybe the psycho with a gun riding the streets of Belize City found his way to Teakettle that night?
Fellows, it is nice to help a damsel in distress but what happens when she finds her new Prince Charming?

Lyndon died? men, this was my classmate. Always quiet and quite different from what his siblings pertrayed. Men, those were the ole compre days.
I was saddened to see the way in which he died. It seems like a setup to me. The ex-wife and her new partner need to be squeezed until the truth comes up. RIP mi bally.
Its so sad to hear what happen. But I no there is a god and you might forgive them but I know your bro won’t. I wouldn’t even say a word if they killed that … hole who did it. Cause you all know who did it and that dirty piece of garbage of girl need to be punish to full extent too. There family running from treat can catch him catch anyone and still catch him.
I have known “Sonny” for many years before I came to the US. He has always been a very nice person, my ex-brother in law. I am praying that justice will be served and the person who did it will be held accountable for it. RIP Sonny, you are in better place now. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. I am still in shock about Sonny’s passing. We will see you in haven.
