The new robbers: a group of females armed with knives

Eighteen year old Shemira Patnett was attacked and robbed on Douglas Jones Street on September fourth. But don’t be too quick to assume that the culprits were the usual suspects, those repeat offenders who traffic the courthouse on charge after charge. This time the victim was ambushed by a group of females, armed with knives. Today two female minors, ages fifteen and sixteen, were charged with Robbery for the attack on Patnett. They appeared unrepresented in the Family Court and both pleaded not guilty, but bail was denied. So the girls will be held at the Belize Youth Hostel until October thirteenth. Patnett reported that she was walking on Douglas Jones Street when the eight girls surrounded her and robbed her of a six hundred and ninety-five dollars cell phone. Police are still looking for the other six females.

From grace to grass to mada_ _ _ _. Now we have to watch out for the girls too?

If they do not give up their friends, prosecute them as adults & while we are at it, prosecute their parents. I wonder if one if these girls was the one who went after another one with a knife two weeks ago & ended up eating dirt & being picked up & thrown against a cement fence.

Girls someone has to set an example for the boys, this wasn’t it!

Where are the mothers of these children?
I suspect that these children are victims of dysfunctional homes, no confidence, no love, and no respect.
No one to teach them that they are enough, so they believe and act as if though the key to a more satisfying and balance life is to go out and robbed someone, how sad.

well this is no surprize since there is no leadership and no law in belize since the leader of this country has his son going around singing songs of gangs and gang banging and how hip it is wow this country really gone to pot .

Where are the parents of these minors that are comitting these crimes.Charity begins at home. Some of these parents need to be held responsible for their kid’s actions.Had Panett been armed and defeded herself by shooting these idiots then thei parents would have been all over the news talking about how good their kids were.

There should not be a problem finding the other six just threaten these two that they will bear the penalties of the other six and they should lead you straight to them.

  10. Carlton says:

Criminal behavior is not restricted to race, gender, age, or any specific social and economic group. This is nothing new; but highlights the biases to crime within our society.

  13. paula says:

People who get caught for robbery and theft should have their pictures posted in the news so that other people can be on the look out for them. Shaming them in the news will help to stop others with the same intent (bright idea) before they get started.

  14. paula says:

It wouldn’t hurt to make “thou shalt not steal” and “thou shalt not kill” mandatory lessons to learn while in school, because clearly they aren’t being taught this at home. If I was their mother I would request a public whipping for shaming my race/family and country!

Teaching the children respect, love of country and value of human life should now become mandatory curriculum in primary school. It takes a village to raise a child but one bad choice to mess one up.
