Viewers approve of shutdown
A business shutdown is being planned for Thursday. Too many lives have been lost, residents are clamouring for urgent and drastic measures to bring order and to put an end to the lawlessness on the streets. Belizeans for Justice is calling on the business community to join the fight against crime by closing shop. It’s a difficult economic time but most businesses are feeling the brunt of the violence. On Tuesday night we asked viewers if they supported the proposal to close down businesses to signal that more needs to be done to bring security to the streets. In our poll, most people said they are in favour of the shutdown. One viewer said: Belizeans please come together and end this violence. It should be called exactly what it is, a country. Because there is not a tightly-knit group of people which share a common culture, wake the hell up.
The people need a miracle for a nation.

Shutdown would’ve been more effective on the 21st. Cancel celebrations on the 21st. No parades.
