  1. sehwehuwant says:

Yes man, all them fellas weh out ah order need to be fix right bak. Curfew and raids will help the situation.

  2. Robert says:

If raids target the known criminals, then absolutely I will support them. But if they just go after ordinary citizens and “little fish,” it will not help anything. Police and BDF squads have to hunt the professional criminals without mercy until they put them out of business.

  3. Marguerite Hulse says:

Yes we do, however it will have to be done country-wide if it is to make an impact. These cowards will leave the city and make their way around the rest of the country and in this manner it will not solve the problem.

  4. BZNinCALI says:

The boy-men are not dracula, they come out in the daytime as well but we have to try as many tactics as possible until we get this turned around. The raids would probably produce more results & we have to speed up the trials. Each time a mother steps forward to complain about her sons being harassed, have Fitzroy or someone on the other side counter & tell us what the little princes are suspected of. Call the parents on their BS & keep shaming them until they start turning in the little ……s & their weapons. The parents …. & moaned for years each time Chester’s men raided their homes, one had the gall to complain that he door was kicked in after she refused to honor the search warrant. SHAME THEM INTO GROWING A CONSCIENCE.

Can we set a dress code if young men want to come out in public day or night? We cannot tell what they are hiding in those oversized clothing & as horrible as it sounds, many of us who own businesses have to fight the urge to reach for a gun whenever these fools reach for their wallets.

  5. Earl Grey says:

As long as it’s CONFINED TO KNOWN & SUSPECTED VIOLENT CRIMINALS.

  6. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST says:

It has been a while since the people have been ranting, and begging the GOB to execute draconian measures, and curfew to settle the crime wave in Belize, but sob is not listening.

Sadly, the GOB thinks that there are even more important issues affecting the country more than the killings in Belize.

As far as I am concerned criminals should receive the same punishment as murder in belize.
We need to set an example to those who dare think that the law is to mess with.

  7. Edith says:

Hell yes! We need that, the crime in our jewel is ridiculous. We have to make a stand n show these animals (u act like one then u have to b one) that we will NOT sit by n continue living in fear. Vi also propose that belizeans start forming neighborhood watch groups n we as belizeans start taking responsibility for our actions n the actions of these young people n senseless murderers n thieves…

  8. Leo says:

Draconian measures you say. These are desperate times in Belize.Crime is rampant, criminals move around with impunity..the Judiciary is in disarray. Desperate times calls for desperate actions.
    Have a better idea ?

  9. Maria martinez says:

I totally agree with cerfew have the soldiers and every one invlove let get up and come full force make this sensless murder know that we mean business and for the chineys we dont respect them and wont be in soilidarity with dem wen they have any problems we r Belizeans they r not they only fu dem self.

  10. chris says:

Definitely yes… If this was done long ago people would at least get some confidence in the government i.e. to show they care somewhat. But these idiots that we put in power dont’ care one bit. If we the citizen could have done it, it would have been long executed. Please Channel 5 please be the voice for us to let the government know this is what we want…IT CAN HELP in reducing murders in the city at least. For the record i would like to know how much murders occurs after 8pm at night? If there are no one out then its easier to get these losers.

  11. Earl Grey says:

Edith…………. ANIMALS DO NOT ACT THAT WAY, you insult them.

  12. karim says:

yes the police should renforce the curfuew and raids to calm dow crime its such a beautifull country nad we should protect our selfs as well. we are know almos staying like gutemala and mixico with crimes and killing lets make a stand know befor its to late.

  13. lilypad says:

there was many measures we can take to try to reduce crime in our jewel Belize. unfortunately even if we enable curfew, it would be a waste of time if it is not kept. when i was a child we were not allowed to walk the streets at night without your parent. and much less crime was committed. as for the raidings, well am just not sure.

  14. worried belizean says:

when u reach to this point in belizean society where the people, citizens of this small jewel are begging and crying for help all our leaders do is put another hopeless man with no vision to help us. the only draconian thing i think should be done is to start hanging murderers.

and what i see happening faster than that is vigilante justice

  15. ronzy says:

worried belizean I couldn’t agree much more with you. If we cant get a conviction then we cant impose a sentence. Vigilante justice is needed and its for a good cause. Theres only a few bad apples getv rid of them before the whole basket spoils. This rampant murdering not only affect families of victims it affects the entire country. Belizeans leave this country and feel safer elsewhere. tourist and investors read the reports and say, “not for me.” These guys that kill are pshycopaths and cant and dont want tobe helped. Dont blame it on lack of jobs. Atleast 40% of Belizeans struggle with income and dont pull a gun. All murderers are punks, real men take care of their responsibilities. Real men take care of their kids, fix the mess they get into and admit when they’re wrong. These murderers know in their heart they are punks with guns, real men are not afraid to say they did something good, most guys that keep their mouth shut have something bad to hide or is up to no good. Last but not least real men knuckle up and the loser shake the other hand, only cowards shoot and run!

  16. Soh Jah Seh says:

Curfew for under age citizens (18 years and younger) should be the call, and if that doesn’t work raise the age limit to 21, the only children that could be out of after the time limit must be accompanied by an adult who is their parent. The adult criminals will still be roaming but they won’t have the young punk pawns to carry out their dirty deeds. Besides curfew, form a neighborhood watch with those people who are willing to participate from every hood that can report on activities in their area, find as many watchers as possible and keep them under cover, and let them report to a special unit squad the names of perpetrators in their area. Now if law enforcement cannot act on that information then we will need a paramilitary (vigilante) group to cause these thugs to vanish from society for good. Think about it and realize it, “YES WE CAN!”

  17. Edith says:

Lol, you’re right Earl, I brought shame to the animals being compared to these non entities. it’s not a laughing situation, its very true. I propose a vigilante force. Kill them out, all of them, take them down hard. Oh n I agree with the blogger that says we have to start shaming the parent into seeing vn admitting the wrong doings if their children…

  18. paula says:

hell yes, whatever it takes to make the citizens feel safe again. Give these murderers no place to rest their heads! we need to drive them into the sea if we have to, the people must feel safe in their country in order to have trust in the government. Right now I feel the government is corrupt and won’t stand to protect the people who elect them to office. I have no sympathy for murders/gangs and dealers. They’re like a limb with gangreen, if you want to save the body you have to cut off the limb!

  19. mark16 says:

what will it serve to vote for? the justice have to start at home and that is what we know nothing about.! police men are only good to arrest fallen drunken people not armed men. they dont and will not risk their lives with that kind a pay they are getting, we ask to much and offer little! have you forgotten the corruption in the police department? POLICE SHOULD BE PAID RIGHT SO THEY MAKE THEIR JOB RIGHT! THEY ARE NOT THERE JUST BECAUSE OF PUBLIC SERVING THEY HAVE FAMILIES TO!!!! GIVE THEM GOOD GUNS NOT THOSE SAME GUNS THAT WERE USED BY THE BAYMEN HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO… Who do you want to risk his life for you?????
