Accused robber remanded due to failure to meet bail

andre cadle

Twenty-four year old Andre Cadle, accused of robbing twenty-four year old Chedrack Slusher, is on remand at the Central Prison tonight after an unusual day in court. Cadle was expected to be freed when Slusher told the court that he no longer wanted to pursue the matter. But Magistrate Emmerson Banner instead offered him bail of six thousand dollars because the complainant who appeared in court had no identification cards to prove that he was in fact Chedrack Slusher. Unfortunately for Cadle, before his relatives could secure bail, he had already been escorted to prison, where he will remain until October twenty-first when the case goes back to court. He was charged with Robbery and Wounding in connection with a report that he placed a knife at Slusher’s throat and robbed him of a chain, wrist watch and a pound of tobacco leaves. Cadle also allegedly stabbed Slusher before he took off. The alleged incident occurred through Majestic Alley at around two p.m. on Monday.

We have a law that forbids bail for possession of a firearm/ammunition. Likewise, I think bail should NEVER be available for crimes of violence like robbery, rape, assault, and murder. The government should pass such a law to protect us, and to make criminals think twice before they try to hurt someone.

Sounds like another case of witness intimidation,

Hats off to BPD & DPP, this was a cool move. Someone is finally using their head. Make these criminals use something other than the threat of violence to keep victims quiet. Now find a way to frustrate him at the next hearing so he & the others can stop taking your ineptness for granted

Why did the victim want to get the charges withdrawn? The poor man must’ve been threatened. He hurt u, he stole your property n u don’t want anything done? That doesn’t sound right. Hang him, hang him high, he stole, he harmed, next time he might kill!

This is not a man. This is an example of the respect I hear so much about. Respect for??????
An example of being to lazy to work. Strong enough to beat a person who cannot look after themselves, BUT not to work.
In China he would at least lose a hand. I am sure the Chinese just shake their heads and wonder if it will ever get better. I know I do.
Maybe it is time to take the Bible literally, eye for eye, it would make for less to feed in prison.Who Knows maybe death for death, gunshot to the face for same and so MAY be the answer!!!
    Likley is the answer!!

Since he was a teen, Andre Cadle has been on medication. He is mentally unstable. he dropped out of high school. he was very bright and intuitive but… alas…there is no real help for mentally disabled persons.

  10. Elgin Martinez says:

Tiered of all the excuses use by our magistrates so as not to convict these criminals. The case file was present this time but for some reason the victim could not have been positively identified. What’s next?I guess he’ll fail to appear.

  11. belizeanpride says:

“WHAT?? he is mentally unstable but mentally stable when ready to assualt people with knife on hand what a sick person is that, he needs hanging.

  12. Edith says:

If the man mentally unstable vsend him to rock view. We constantly have excuse for all the sh*t these no good criminals do. I say hang him, n just in case u didn’t hear me the first couple of times, HANG HIM. These guys continue to get away with stupid sh*t so they’ll continue doing vthe foolishness until something drastic is don’t. I hope the man wanted to drop the charges so he could rid Belize of this scoundrel himself dammit. They make people so frustrated n mad.
