No bottom to moral decay; God’s House burglarized

No one is spared from the hands of criminals, not even the house of God. A thief or thieves broke into the Wesley Church on Albert Street and made away with a number of wall fans. The burglary was discovered this morning and indications are that a small person gained access through a broken window. News Five’s Jose Sanchez reports on the latest burglary at the Wesley Church

Jose Sanchez, Reporting

The moral decay in the old capital has rotted to further depths.  Not only are innocent children and senior citizens gunned down, but the one safe haven for everyone, the church, is also a target for criminals. Wesley Church on Albert Street has been burglarized.

Rev. David Goff,

“When we came for prayer meeting this morning at about six we found out that the church had been broken into. Sometime between Monday night and this morning.”

Jose Sanchez

“Since the discovery what have you found missing?”

Rev. David Goff

“We have discovered that they went along the walls right around the church and stole all the wall fans off the walls right around. Except one and that one is broken and that’s why perhaps they didn’t want that one. And given the size of Wesley Church it took some time to go around. All together we have lost about seven fans and along with the fans, the leather covering for the public address system. You notice that that has been taken as well.”

One inscription on the wall says ‘God is Love.’ But the person, who orchestrated the burglary of hallowed ground, is no herder of sheep. The small space at the broken window could only have been large enough for a child to pass through.

Rev. David Goff

“Well we believe that they came in through a broken window that we have. It is obvious that perhaps they had a small person, maybe a child that they would have pried open the window, let that person come in and then have them open the main doors. I think we have to appeal to the public if you see anybody trying to sell fans and you have an inkling that they are used fans or stolen property, be careful. Please do not purchase them. You may be purchasing the property of Wesley Church and if you can, if you have any information, you can kindly contact us or the police right away so we can have a swift response.”

Jose Sanchez

“The church is sanctity for the poor, the down trodden. It’s a safe haven. That’s what it should be.”

Rev. David Goff

“Exactly. One would expect that this is the last place that burglars would try to come into, to violate the house of god. For me personally, I view it as a very despicable act when you would come into god’s house and steal. I wonder what sort of mind would do that and I wonder for those persons; have you no fear of god and of god’s judgment and god’s wrath that you would come into god’s house. It’s bad enough that you steal from anybody. But when you come into the house of god, I think you have really sunken to a very low level.”

God forgives, but someone without values will not grasp the sacrilege of God’s house of worship. Reporting for News Five, Jose Sanchez.

God can forgive them & have mercy in their souls after we are finished. Right now we want their hides.

To the mother who condoned this action; remember that by staying quiet, accepting the proceeds from the crime, you have just put a target on your child’s head, the soulless thieves will take your child out to keep him or her quiet & you may be the next one on TV crying & swearing that your little angel was meek & mild & bothered no one.

Why should the so-call house of god be an exception to the rules of the criminals? As far as I am concern this is the least of the sins committed in the house of god.

If you are still awed by this latest burglary then stop it right now.
Don’t use this opportunity to beat up yourselves for being so darn naive, that we can’t figure out the solution to stop the crimes.

That country is now experiencing a loss of energy, a loss of power, and a sense of spiritual deadness.

    The down spiralling continues.

We keep hitting NEW lows….. STEALING FROM THE CHURCH.

    WHAT’S NEXT???????????????

  4. Edith says:

This is low, they have no conscience stealing from the church. They stole the wine, now the fans, the preacher needs to get the pews screwed to the ground cause those might b next. If they catch the thief/thieves they need to b lashed before they’re locked up.

  5. bix says:

there are a couple of chairs left…chain ’em up

  6. deedee says:

Fan dem thief from the church…lawd some people nuh got NO SHAME. I’m surprise they didn’t take apart the pews & went with it.

  7. roska says:

Can we have another shutdown??? Guess the last one didnt do the trick……
This time we shutdown also the airports…. the port…..the borders….

What else…let me see????….. how about the hospitals???

The criminals are still killing people….. and burglarizing churches!!!

We need something more tangible and less symbolic….. How about cutting off the hands of these crooks and hanging the murderers…..???

Ohhh but alas… we might be viewed as savages by the Europeans that give us $$millions in
grants…. with those monies we could buy new fans and chalices for the churches…

Could we also buy innocent children lives (that are killed while sleeping at home) or the lives of shop owners or that of other innocents (that are murdered) with those monies???

    We better be able……
And Yes patrick I heard you…. we shouldnt even think about corporal punishment either!!!

  8. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST/DEPUNISHER says:

Roska, if they shut all borders, airport, shops, etc this will not stop the killings.
I don’t believe there is any other royal road to attain civilization, less savagery, and more justice, and peace in Belize than to take the lives of those animals who contribute nothing to their country. Use their departure from this life as a reward of hard work, and example to those attempting to break the law.

    …………..

Harsh Justice is nothing unless close behind it stands a warm living public.

  9. BZNinCALI says:

    Roska,

I still think Belizeans need to make a statement with the only power they still have, BUYING POWER. Don’t buy anything other than the basic necessities for a week, then a month & a year if necessary. If they can walk to wherever they need to go, do so. Coordinate cooking chores & transporting their children to & from school with relatives or neighbors, Water is a necessity; cable & electricity are not.. Until everyone feels the pinch, they fools who think they are insulated from the violence will continue to bury their heads & pretend the problem is geographic.

The Europeans don’t have to deal with this level of crime. When the nuts in the Balkans started killing each other, they called it ethnic cleansing instead of gang warfare & NATO & the UN stepped in. If their donations are keeping us mentally enslaved & afraid to punish criminals, we are the fools & possibly guinea pigs in a sick experiment. The irony of it is that when Belize & our neighbors were under Colonial/European rule the death penalty was enforced. Why is it now considered barbaric?. It was good enough for them, it is good enough for us.

We will gain more by enforcing the laws & eliminating the fear all of us have of being executed for no damn good reason in Belize by the psychos outsiders are trying to protect. I see no downside to cracking the whip, Tourists & Belizeans will be free to walk the streets again, more of us will come home to spend our disposable income when we can, the protesters opposing the death penalty will need hotel rooms & food & should pay for permits. It’s a win-win solution.

  10. Earl Grey says:

    MADDYVANDIJK/DER-IDIOT….. ………..

We will let you kill them ………. then ya’ll can go to hell together!!!

You are NO DIFFERENT THAN THOSE YOU CALL ANIMALS.

  11. Edith says:

BzeinCali I must commend u for a very intelligent b well articulated contribution. I wish more of our bloggers would think before they add a comment just for adding sake.

  12. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST/DEPUNISHER says:

Roska, people know that going barbaric is the only option left to cure their country, yet they rather die by gunshots than to step over the border.
Who is to blame, not me.

  13. Curious says:

are you sure those fans and leather were stolen? All together you have lost about seven fans and along with the fans, the leather covering for the public address system. You notice that that has been taken as well.” no i hadnt noticed that, however i did notice the fans were disgustingly filthy – possibly blowing garbage and germs around – and kids go to church there, their parents too?
