Shooting victim in stable condition
We reported in Wednesday’s newscast that a Belize City resident was shot several times at about five p.m. on Gibnut Street. According to an eyewitness, Abdul Theus was arguing with another male prior to the shooting. The assailant described as wearing a purple and white cap, white shirt and blue pants, was walking along with Theus from the direction of Dolphin Street onto Gibnut Street when they started to argue. The man then pulled out his firearm and shot Theus several times. Theus, a thirty-two year old construction worker of Pitter Street, received four gunshot wounds: one to his right side of face; his right wrist; his right shoulder and his right lower back. Six expended nine millimeter shells were recovered at the scene. Theus is listed in a stable condition at the K.H.M.H. Investigating officers have detained a sixteen year old minor in relation to the incident.
To quote Joan Rivers, the comedian; “Can we talk?”

Totally agree Mr. Grey
Belize from what I remember was such a beautiful country – quiet, passive, respectful, non-violent people to name a few. Someone please tell me what has become of it?!? I REFUSE to take my family somewhere where I have to fear for their safety. The police seem to be scared of the criminals and I the criminals are killing officials. What has become of this beautiful country?!?! Natives of Belize will try to do something when Belize is taken over by non-Belizeans. Then it’s too late. Also does anyone respect each other in Belize and does anyone even believe in GOD anymore, what about family and neighborly love. This is really SAD!
