Highway accident results in broken arm

A couple was heading out of the city on Saturday night, but before they made to the Haulover Bridge they were involved in a traffic accident. Merevaldo Cassasola was driving a Chevrolet Pickup, accompanied by his wife Margaret. But when they reached mile four and a half, a Dodge Dakota pickup pulled out of a yard on the highway without warning. The trucks collided and fifty-two year old Margaret, suffered a broken arm, for which she was treated at the K.H.M.H. Dwight Gillett, the driver of the Dakota, has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution.

On Sunday Night at about 7 pm, while driving up from Orange walk to Belize City in the area of Mile 9 i observed a dark green geo prims bearing license place D6243 (taxi) swerving all over the road and braking suddenly. this vehicle nearly caused and accident that would have lead to the injury of several passengers in a pickup. Observing this reckless driving i call 911 to inform them of the situation, i called them three times once by mile 7, second time entering Belma and the last time by north front street. NOTHING WAS done the by the police. A VEHICLE WITH A DRUNK DRIVER IS THE SAME OR WORST THAN A LOADED GUN. HOW CAN WE TRY TO HELP THE POLICE IF THEY JUST KEEP ON DISAPPOINTING US LIKE THIS.

So many accident at that same bridge and nothing done. What a shame!!. lOOK AT THAT FEW MILES OF ROAD COMING FROM THE AIR PORT TO THE CITY. THE LAST TIME I WAS THERE THE WATER WAS OVER THE ROAD VERY DANGEROUS AND AT NIGHT NO LIGHTS YOU CAN RUN OFF THE ROAD INTO THAT RIVER. THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE ARE NOT THINKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN BELIZE SAFETY IN ANY WAY. THAT ROAD IS DEADLY AT NIGHT. BUT IT TAKE PUBLIC WORKS ONE YEAR TO BUILD HALF MILE OF ROAD BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO GET THE JOBS ARE RELATED TO THE MINISTER OF WORKS. MAKE THE COUNTRY LOOK GOOD FIRST PLACE VISITORS SEE WHEN THEY ARE COMING IN THE COUNTRY.
