She set his heart, then his home, on fire

Marsha Bood

A thirty-one year old Belize City woman has been charged with arson. Marsha Bood is accusing of attempting to set on fire, the house of her ex, Godfrey Dougal.  On August seventeenth, Bood allegedly had an altercation with Dougal at his apartment located on Bootsville. He claims that after her threats, a fire broke at his house and that he saw her leaving from his veranda. Dougal also claimed he managed to bring the fire under control but that the window and walls were damaged and a mattress and bed were scorched. He also claims that he saw a bottle of what appeared to be kerosene nearby. On arraignment before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer, Bood pleaded not guilty saying she was nowhere near the house of her ex. She was granted bail of four thousand dollars. Bood, however, has two previous charges of Harm and Damage to Dougal’s Property, which was raised by the Court prosecutor, Sgt. Hector Rodriguez. Frazer ordered that she stay away from her ex and before leaving the courtroom, Bood questioned why she was being charged with arson when the damages were only to items in the apartment. Her ex maintained that she intended to burn down the apartment. She is due back in court on November eleventh.

I am convinced there are a considerable number of my people working around Belize with some psychological problems. The problem is that the stigma associated with mental health means that they won’t come forward and say I need help. However by their actions you can tell that clearly this the case. Perhaps the courts should start ordering some of these people to have a psychiatric review. I am so sick of seeing these feckless people; we must have people doing great things in Belize. I said last week and I stand by it, some of these news items are really not worth the coverage they get. In it not in the interest of national security, no one was hurt, it a private matter between to people how clearly should be together. These types of news articles are normally confined to local newspapers in other parts of the world.

I’m flattered that this drama queen decided to pose for the camera But, yeah, just unfortunate.
So, her ex dumped her because he found another victim to victimize.

Heartache’s too much to bear and the drama queen had to quench herself pity in kerosene, still smiling for the camera as her life is permanently put on hold.
ZERO self worth here, this is too obvious though.

When Belizean women start setting higher standards for themselves as women of power and in the men they date, there will be no need for convictions, because houses will stop burning and lives stop going to the dogs. When mothers fail their daughters, their daughters fail themselves.

Because I believe that the highest compliment you can pay a woman is to proclaim that she values herself, among other delicious, juicy stuff.

We can all agree that this woman need help but hopefully not the mental help or meds that “TROLL GREY-DEMONKEYMAN”need to keep his obsession for me under control. Anyways, I challenge you to happiness.

We should all keep in mind, a person is innocent until proven guilty. If this woman is properly diagnosed as having a psychological problem is she guilty of a crime. We should also keep in mind that the only evidence that places this woman at the seen of the crime is her ex. How do we know that he’s telling the truth. Without passing judgment before weighing all the facts, we can convict a person falsely.
