Rash kids still missing

Benjamin & Oneila Rash

Siblings Onelia and Benjamin Rash disappeared without a trace almost a month ago on Monday, August thirtieth while on a routine trip to Punta Gorda Town and its nearby communities selling limes and craboos.  The children, ages nine and eleven respectively, left their home village of San Marcos that morning in the company of their uncle Domingo Rash who disembarked Coc’s bus in nearby Cattle Landing Village a few minutes later.  According to Rash the last time he saw his niece and nephew was at three-forty-five that afternoon when they were making their rounds in that vicinity.  Since then the children have been missing and despite a massive search party deployed to the area a few days later all attempts to locate them have been futile.  Efforts to locate the missing siblings have subsequently waned and authorities are no closer to finding them now than when they first began looking twenty-seven days ago.  In the wake of their disappearance the home and life investment of US Nationals Cherie and Vincent Rose was torched by angry villagers who acted on their suspicion that Benjamin and Onelia were abducted and used to feed crocodiles on the couple’s American Crocodile Education Sanctuary. A local fortune teller was later arrested and charged with false pretense after wrongly predicting that the children were on the premises.  In the weeks that followed, Punta Gorda Police held numerous meetings with their counterparts in neighboring Guatemala and issued international bulletins for the missing children but so far have not been able to locate them dead or alive.  Another meeting between both authorities is scheduled for October tenth.

  2. Earl Grey says:

My the good Lord bless their souls…………

  3. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST says:

It is time family start dealing with the sad truth of these kids.
The kids were not kidnapped and taken across the border; they are right in Belize, dead or alive.
Light a candle for the kids.

  4. Edith says:

Poor babies. I, regretfully, feel like they r gone. It’s been so long n no sighting. My heart goes out to that family. Imagine the suffering they r going through. They have no closure.

  5. rod says:

met their end in alligator land how sad they should have killed all those alligators to be sure period.

  6. Con says:

my heart ache for the parents as I am a mother and it would be devastating to lose my children. All the same parents need to be more vigilant. You should always keep them within your eyesight or another trust worthy adult.

  7. Cooliebwoi says:

Rod you are such an incompetent buffoon!!!!!!!!! Please keep your comments to yourself, nobody needs it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. P'off Belizean says:

I agree Edith. The first couple hours are vital, the longer they are missing the less likely they will be found alive. It’s really hard to say this but I am afraid the odds are against them. Please people if this happens in the future make the child the focus as soon as its apparent he/she is missing.

In the future when a child go missing, all the Ports of Belize needs to be tightened with checks of documents and vehicles including the trunks etc. The media should be used to alert the general public with a detailed description of the child immediately. The search for the children should be the priority, any other things could be addressed at a later date.

Either way the parents need to know what happened to these children.

  9. Darwin says:

All the comments are good but the reality remains the same. We can all talk about and feel sorry for the families which we should if we have a heart but if we do nothing about it like the many other cases where kids in Belize went missing then all this talk, ain’t worth crop. BELIZEANS NEED TO WAKE TH HELL UP. Stop allow these politicians to rule the way we live. If there are not enough laws that protect our livelyhood and most importantly our kids, then we need to stand up and fight for such laws. Obviously the dumb laws that are on the books are either not working or the legal system is not adhering to them so what do we do? DAMN; HOLD THE IDIOTS ACCOUNTABLE.

If the cops are not doing what they are suppose too then take their … to court and seek some punishment for their inablity to function within their jobs. Don’t allow them to come back to their jobs after stuff like this happen. They shouldn’t have a job simple..On the real this could and probably will happen again and to any of our kids so we all as parents need to be behind the Rass family and fight that tha laws are change. We cannot blame no one for the position Belize is in because we are all responsible but we also all have the right and opportunity to turn all this madness around.

It’s called RESPONSIBILITY: this means we have the ability to respond.

  10. Proud says:

    Really sad.

  11. Belize says:

It’s sad that a couple of crocodiles, americans and festivities cams as priority to these missing children.

This is totally unacceptable and needs to be addressed. We can be more than certain that these children are not returning now but we must remember that God is looking and he knows the truth. I’m sorry for whomever did this when God deals with them.

I must say however that we cannot close this case until closure and justice is had.

  12. SanG says:

I agree that those alligators should have been checked. I would like also to see a total investigation done on that American couple. Belize has to tighten their laws when foreigners moving in the country. The comment on CNN that Mr. Ross made about those people – well those people own that land for years and he moved in there. I understand there was no way the Mayans could have gotten that close to the property. Sounds very fishy to me.
My heart goes out to the family and hope for a positive outcome.

  13. Cayo Buay says:

I posted this a while back.. A friend did some research and found a little bit:
    http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150273434310221

Basically: Mr Rose managed a resort and had a construction company, and she worked with some program at a school in Colorado. The Roses has been fooling the Belizean people for a long time with their Biologist crap.

  14. belizeanpride says:

  15. Lisa says:

Indeed, Belize I agree with you. The kids should have been the priority. But the sensationalism of the other stories took center stage and that is unfortunate. My heart too goes out to the family of these children.

  16. Dorothy says:

My thanks to channel 5 for keeping their little faces in the news. I sujested a couple weeks ago someone should open a reward account at one of the banks. I can’t, I am an american and am in the states. Some one should. I feel a lot of people would donate and when the reward gets big enough some one will talk. At least channel 5 could broadcast the amounts and keep the childrens faces out there.

  17. lisa says:

feeding the kids to alligators come on are they for real. some one took those kids idiots.

  18. emily says:

They found the lime that the kids was sellin rite there where these people live that’s why every body tink they feed those kids to those allegator

  19. yo says:

Emily knows, she be CSI. Every lime has a serial number like a car VIN, and they don’t match the lime trees on the croc property.

I would be more than happy to answer any AFOC that keeps lying about the Roses.
    Rod: you are just ignorant.
SanG: Go ahead and investigate. Let me know how that goes.
Cayo Buay: Jim you stupid hack. You give yourself away every time.
    Google Jim Jensen, Belize. –
The con man who stole from the Roses and is WANTED, keeps posting.

  21. hal spry says:

People…. the dogs searched the property. No trace of the children. They were not there. Now I hear there is more trouble .
Here is a copy of the letter I just sent to PG Police: My name is Hal Spry a long time friend of the Rose family. I have just been told that the “villagers ” have gone to the PG Police and said they are going to Ambergris Cay and burn out Vince and Cherie Rose AGAIN.
Why were they not arrested? Why have the PG Police not done a report on the arson? Who was the man who was detained and released , who had pictures of the children? When will the much needed report be available?
The PG Police need to come up with some answers, because there are many questions.
This is my second attempt at communicating with the PG Police Department. I am forwarding a copy of this email to several news agencies as well as the many agencies involved. Hal Spry

  22. halspry says:

    ? No answers yet?

  23. hal spry says:

    Rod is a fool.
Cayo Buay is Jim Jensen the person who stole from the Roses and is wanted in Belize.
He has posted the same comments before. He is obsessed with hurting the Roses. He has other names in other blogs. But allways recognisable for who he is.

hahaha Jim (cayo boui) you are an idiot!
Anyone who says they saw limes on the property was tresspassing. (They have 3 lime trees on the property).

Anyone who says they saw limes in the kitchen was a burgler – the kitchen is on the second floor, and the only way to see in thru the windows into the kitchen is to tip-toe sideways on a skinny ledge 25 ft up in the air!

  28. zoomom says:

This person is wanted by the police and is believed to be posting on this website under multiple names. Beware.

  29. hal spry says:

News on the ACES arson and murder of crocodiles:
At this time Five crocodiles were found dead, hacked
    and slaughtered.
    And still no arrests.
    Still no police report.

  31. hal spry says:

Here is a link to a reward fund for the Rash children, set up by an anonymous group. Please pass this information on , Maybe this will jog someones memory.

  32. halspry says:

Can someone give the PG Police a ride???
Apparently the reason they can’t really investigate the arson is they have transportation problems.
