Two men charged with handling Stolen Goods stolen from outside nightclub

carlo gutierrez

Most partygoers know the saying “after the party there’s the after party”. But in the wee hours of September twenty-sixth, after the party there was a robbery at Palm Island night club. Today Carlo Gutierrez and Derrick Munnings were charged with Handling Stolen Goods in connection with that armed holdup.

Derrick Munnings

Police don’t have enough evidence to link them to the actual robbery, but the two were caught on Sunday in a twelve thousand dollars Ford Ranger Pickup that was stolen from Lance Bernard and used as the getaway vehicle. Bernard was about to leave the club when he was hit on the head and fell unconscious. He was relieved of his keys and the robbers took off in his vehicle. Gutierrez and Munnings were represented by Attorney Aldo Reyes and they both pleaded not guilty to the charge. They are now out on bail of five thousand dollars each and will reappear in court on October first.

    Throw the book at them…….

  2. BZNinCALI says:

Shouldn’t the bail be at least twice the value of the stolen property? Did they use the stolen money to retain an attorney? Let’s see how this one turns out.

  3. ronzy says:

out on bail for assault and grand theft auto? wow!

  4. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST says:

They arrested the real suspects of the stolen Pickup then let them go on bail; they were caught because they were too stupid to get rid of the Pickup in time.
    SENTENCE: DEATH BY STARVATION!

  5. Edith says:

they should’ve been remanded. They r charged with handling stolen property they should’ve been charged also with aiding n abetting because the stuff didn’t just appear in their posession, they got it from somebody, I’d they claim they didn’t take it themselves. So that means they helped the thieves. They should get a stiff sentence. I don’t know how people buy stuff from known criminals for little or nothing n then claim they didn’t know it was stolen. Really? So u think this Guy just bought phone cards n r selling them for half price even though u heard the local Chinese store was just robbed? Or u think the gold chain being sold to u was just taken off roughly that’s y broken in the middle? Or they r selling u an ipod because they got tired of using it when they don’t even know how to turn it on? Come on my people, think Noh man!

  6. concern citizen says:

  7. BM says:

They let them out so they could terrorize some other person. They were in the victim’s car…….what other proof the police need? If it wasn’t them that did the actual robbery then they should be calling names…….. I tell you our justice system just so SIMPLE!!!!!!!! Just because nobody no see them no mean a crime was not committed…………..

makes a lot of sense SABUSKI …..SABUSKI pats himself on the back

  9. Cutty Ligiyaba says:

There goes a LIVE one SABUSKII—-catch him and eat him– some medic might pat you on the back performing CPR…… Voodoo also runs rampant in the entire country of BELIZE—take heed–

I wish people would think before making stupid comments. I wasn’t aware that the charge handling stolen goods is a charge which denies the suspect his right to bail. If you read the story, Police don’t have enough evidence to link them to the actual robbery. The driver was too drunk to ID anyone.

  11. Elgin Martinez says:

NoName: I assume you don’t understand what you red. What happen to the fact that these two idiots assaulted the owner of the vehicle and took off in it.?What’s your point? It’s stated that these two thieves were caugt in a twelve thousand dollars Ford Ranger. What more evidence do you need?

  12. none says:

I agree with Noname! It was stated that they can’t link the two guys directly to the robbery…..Martinez you are making assumptions, no where in that story did it state that these two guys assaulted the owner of the vehicle…..where you there at palm island that night? did you see them assault the owner? I suggest getting all the facts first before making judgments. Now do u really think that if these two guys stole that vehicle they’d be circling around the city without a care in the world? lets make sense out of nonsense.
