The infamous Arthur Young is back on the streets of Belize City after he was granted bail in Magistrate’s Court today. Young was caught at the Mexican airport trying to catch an early morning flight to Mexico City using a fake passport with the alias Edward Roberts. After three months on the run, Young was handed over to Belizean authorities and was arraigned on July second for Keeping Prohibited Material, Drug Trafficking and Possession of Controlled Drugs. The charges came after a bust at a house in Vista Del Mar, Ladyville, where police found a gun silencer, equipment and materials to manufacture the weapon accessory as well as several books about firearms. Young was linked to the crime because his Social Security Card and old driver’s license were found at the house. Since the offence involved prohibited weapon material, Young had to wait three months before he could get bail at the Magistrates Court level. But his bail today didn’t come without resistance from the prosecutor, who argued that Young had violated the conditions of bail that was granted at the Supreme Court in February for a firearm offence. Magistrate Sharon Frazer, however, explained that it was matter for the Supreme Court and she had no jurisdiction in that area. So Young was granted bail of ten thousand dollars plus two sureties, which he met this evening.
Why does Belize accept different kinds of justice for different people? Well-connected crooks walk free while the common man bears the full weight of the wheels of justice.

“as well as several books about firearms” – are firarms books illegal in Belize?
He’s out on bail for a firearm offense and he’s caught in Mexico. How is that not a clear cut case of violating his bail? Whether or not the magistrate in this most recent charge has jurisdiction over the supreme court matter should not matter. Why did the supreme court not immediately revoke his bail for the simple fact he left the country while out on bail?
Its not the Belize Police Department that cannot hold him, if u read correctly when the police finally got him the courts granted him what he wanted, the courts are more corrupt than the darn Police and the gov’t of the day got his back

this things is like an insult to us the belizean that are unpreviledge, we the common people, we have no strings attached to the big people in power, we are the once that take the full weight of the petty crime with high charges and jail terms while the previledge once with strings attached to the elite people with power get a slap in the hand.

story repeated again. didnt we say that there was no bail granted for firearms?so in other words if i have the bucks ,as we say ,we can do anything with a illegal firearm and still be out free without any charge? so i dont need to get a license to have my equipment to manufacture the weapon accessory or even a weapon? jaja come on we are not so dumb.
